I need to do a little work to the feed arrangements, but as may be seen the small very flexible nib is delightful.

I recently bought a Waterman Hemisphere from an Op shop. It had the standard steel nib(M). It wrote beautifully. One of the members suggested upgrading the nib to an 18ct. Dutchpen had one and I just received and fitted it. This is a stub nib (I think). Writes very smoothy and juicy. I hope I have added to the value of the pen if I ever decide to sell it.

Simply marvelous, Rick. And folks, I got a somewhat beater 51 from Rick that will be a project. Documentation next week, kudos to Rick and his amazing 'gets' and sales.

I was fascinated by the beautiful Sailor 1911 21k nibs and couldn't resins from buying one of their two tone nibs. So here it is!ImageUploadedByTapatalk1436232155.247309.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1436232169.206569.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1436232178.973392.jpg

    Here are my newest acquisitions:

    L-R:

    Kaweco Skyline Sport (M nib)

    Lamy Safari (EF nib)

    Faber-Castell Loom (F nib)

Bought some other goodies (pocket notebooks, inks, etc) and this was my first researched purchase; I couldn't be happier with my decisions. Looking forward to getting more inks, pens, and notebooks now. This place is an office supply nerd's heaven!

I got a Sheaffer Balance black and mother-of-pearl pencil to match a pen, and a soft dip pen nib.

[QUOTE=wangminze;137044]Had some friends coming over from China so I grabbed some Jinhaos. I have no idea what these models are. Please let me know if you know. Thanks.
The second pen writes horribly. Is there a way to fix it?

I think the Jinhao with the dragon type clip is a Jinhao 1200. The very ornate one is a Dragon World Jinhao fountain pen (( think). I have not had any troubles with the three Jinhao 450s I bought but I have heard they are hit and miss. My suggestion (which I did) was to order some of the No. 6 Goulet nibs fit easily and are fairly smooth writers

Received today, the new LE Platinum Century #3776 Yamanaka demonstrator. It's really lovely; the pressed relief wave/ripple pattern is very well done. My favourite of the Five Fuji Lakes series so far. I even prefer it to the Shoji.

I chose the Soft Medium and it's a dream of a nib. A classic Japanese medium. Writes beautifully, straight from the box, as every pen should. My pen is number #2146.

YES .... I can assure you MANY want to see pics... you might want to post a couple here... and then start a thread with all the photos so we an find them easy. It looks to me like it is a real winner. I love the Shoji and have been holding off on any others but may have to bite on one of these.

PS.. congrats... soft medium if a great nib indeed !

No. If you go to the website you will see under the Nib sections that he has numerous types and sizes But his own brand No. 6 size (can get it in plain silver or a mixed silver and gold). I think they might have been $15 last time I looked. They are a German brand nib (Jovo). They fit without any problem just pull the nib out of the Jinhao and push it in.

    Isn't it just?! 😊

And thank goodness Platinum eventually got the message & started to produce chrome trim converters. The gold ones looked terrible in the Lake demonstrators.
