Admiring Lady Onogaro's demonstrator. I have a very similar Senator demonstrator in bright pink. (Senator bought ERO and many of the designs remained the same.)

I took a punt on an real ropy Waterman 52 - I really, really want just one vintage flexible nib. Just. One.

Seems I am not made to be a gambler!

Lever box broken, no sac, nib scratchy and likely re-straightened at some time, no real use to me.

Bought my very first Parker 51!!

Won't actually see it until next week but here are some photos by the seller.
It's supposedly a full size Parker 51, 1948 Aerometric burgundy pen with a 1/10 GF cap (with what looks like a longer clip) - in really nice condition.
It's been taken apart and cleaned and seems to write well.

One thing that is a bit up in the air is that nib it is. Seller thought fine-to-medium.
If anyone here have a guess I'd be more than happy to hear

Writing sample on a Rhodia tablet that is 2.9 x 4.1 inches w/ each box about 3/16th of an inch

Very excited to get my first Parker 51 and seller was extremely friendly and good to deal with.

I'll tell you what: I've got a bunch of Esties and I've seen many more, and that is one of the most handsome photographs I've ever seen of these modest little pens. Congrats!

My latest is quite possibly the most I will ever spend for anything that doesn't drive and I can't live in. Sold my small collection so I could get my "first" grail pen in the new Conid Caiso.

I'm planning on putting a Montblanc 149 OBB nib on there!

Yeah, the FPN forum has a thread on doing a variety of nib substitutions on these pens. I have seen Pelikans, vintage Watermans, etc. As far as I know, Werner of Conid has also helped a few people on modifying the feed of their pen to allow some nib swaps but that shouldn't be the case with the 149 nib.

This isn't my image, but it's the same nib size as the pen I'll be getting in the mail. I've been inspired, haha.

    Spoiler:

The pen is slightly brushed - so there is texture there, ever so slightly but it provides a grip - unlike say the Monteverde Invincia in stainless, that pen is slippery.

The Parker 51 I bought It arrived today and first impressions (pre-writing) are very positive!

It's a 1948 full-size aerometric burgundy pen w/ 1/10 gold filled cap - and let me tell you...it is gorgeous
I was also able to get it for what my max budget was: $75 shipped so I'm very happy about that.

Won't try it out with ink until tomorrow/Monday but I am very, very excited to do so.

Posted a bunch of photos over here as well
