Thank you in advance for elucidating.

Well after 4 browsers and trying and Android phone I finally see what you see with FireFox.

Ill resize that pic. Never had an oversize problem with a junky iPhone pic but I can see the size is big.

I guess the other browsers adjust to fit the screen .....

Of course, that makes me more eager to straighten those tips, so once again this pen can glide across paper.

But look at the flex potential, worth saving, don't you think?
    Very much worth yes.

Look at the beautiful nuances it gives to that ink. Beautiful!!

A TWSBI Eco in black. Just arrived, yet to be inked.

Not a pen as such but a Pilot Capless medium nib unit in alloy,so smooth I think I like it better then the 18k fine nib hat came with the pen

Got this a couple of weeks back for a song.

Thinking that if nothing else I would get to see what a 52 was kind of like and maybe the nib would be okay. As it turns out the nib was a little scratchy semi-flex thing, and the lever box is shot. So, a bust.

Then, instead of forking out $40 for a new barrel (which is what I was advised to do) I today stumped up a bare handful of dollars more for this:

The thinking - if such it could be called - was that the lever looked functional so at least I may end up with one usable pen from these two monstrosities. And of course I get another nib to examine. Pity about the big chunk missing from the cap lip.

I don't know what to do with the parts if nothing fits together.

This is my final attempt to get a Waterman 52 with even semi-flex nib. I refuse to pander to sellers who are fishing for several hundred dollars for these things.

Quite right! It's not like they're paying a huge price for them.

    Thank you very much, Earthdawn.

Do you think it may be a Firefox problem?

Did you see any writing sample from these sellers?
Especially with a merchandise that is as unique and varied as a vintage fountain pen, I would expect at least a writing sample.

Not long after I got my first Writers Edition, I got my second: the Charles Dickens.

I'm no wiz with an iPhone, but sometimes my pics come out huge if posted unaltered. Other times they post at a nice large size for a 13" display. :shrugs:

Just got my Pelikan M800, green stripe, 18c medium nib. Came with a bottle of Edelstein Sapphire. Quite a bit longer and fatter than my M600. Very comfortable in the hand. Writes like a dream with a nice wet broadish/medium line. Got an excellent deal ($250 + $25 shipping) from Italy.

An danish MB 20 masterpiece (danish, because of the tapered cap and the small star).

Made a BIG mistake and took daughter and wife to ye olde pen shoppe Daughter wanted these two pens, I said "No. Pick one!", daughter said "Awwww! I'll take the blue one then..." and then Mom said "Okay, then I'll take the purple one and we can share!" What the heck though, $20 each and they come equipped with a squeeze converter and a pretty nice plastic case.

...of course we also had to get some matching ink. The sales lady noticed our daughter was quite young and recommended the Waterman ink because it isn't waterproof and we might have a chance to wash it out before it sets (she said). You can't see it very well in the picture but the purple is really nice. I don't want to mislead anyone, the writing was done with a Tachikawa G nib and not with the Pilot Metropolitan Retro Pops pictured. The Metropolitans seems to write fine although I think they are a medium nib?
