Well, in my young fountain pen hobby, I've got a collection of about 50-ish pens, all modern, at least half are Chinese, mostly Jinhao, some Lanbitou, Baoer, WingSung and Luoshi for good measure... I've also got a few Monteverde (Intima, Impressa & Artista Crystal) a Conklin Duragraph, a few Noodlers, a few FPR, some Pilots and a couple Kawecos. I have however just sealed the deal on a couple vintage pens, my first from Rick Krantz, items I & L from the linked thread following: (http://fpgeeks.com/forum/showthread....AN-AND-FLEXIES). I figure the Sheaffer TD student pen is actually the Sheaffer Tip-Dip Cadet (http://www.penhero.com/PenGallery/Sh...erTipDip12.jpg), vintage 1952-63, but I cannot for the life of me find any solid information on the Locktite Combo Pen.
Is there anyone who has some knowledge about the Locktite Combo Pen, approximate vintage, history of the company, anything really, that might be able to share here to shed a bit of light on this pen that's headed my way? Both pens were a bit of an impulse purchase for me, as I've been wanting to tip a cheap toe into the vintage world, if only just to say I've done it, but it would be nice to be able to say something about the pens with some sense of knowing where/when it came from.
Cheers,
Wade
This Jinhao 886, which I really like! Love my inexpensive pens that write well! Ferrari red without the Ferrari price (or even the Vega price )

I bought one of the with a spiderweb design on the cap, and I think there were other colors and designs. I think paid $1.99 or so for it. Mine writes well too.

To clarify: I ordered a Nakai-ai in Heki tamenuri from nibs.com. They don't take any money until the pen arrives in their shop, and they do warn on their website that the wait can be over 6 months. They're upstanding vendors and I'm impatient and whiney.
Was just sorta hoping it would come for my birthday...

Is your order just reserving stock with nibs.com, or is it a custom order placed with Nakaya through nibs.com? I expect a custom order would get processed faster than simply waiting on Nakaya to build regular production pieces and ship stock to nibs.com. Even then the mildest of custom orders is still likely at the mercy of their 6+ month backlog of pens to be made. My custom order was placed in April and I haven't heard anything since they reconfirmed the requested kanji a couple weeks afterward.
On the happy side I did acquire a Visconti Michelangelo on Monday. Blue with rose gold trip and a Dreamtouch nib.

Fountain Pen Revolution Jaipur and FPR Indus that arrived today. They look better than I expected and write quite well (flex nibs on both).
I wonder what this thread is going to look like after the DC pen show this weekend

I got these a few days ago. the first is a fifties MB 215 clip-lever ballpoint pen, the next is a MB 274 pencil, also from the fifties, and finally an old danish MB 214 from around 1955-1959 with a Ef nib.
