"When Men differ in Opinion, both Sides ought equally to have the Advantage of being heard by the Publick;
and that when Truth and Error have fair Play, the former is always an overmatch for the latter."

Finally gave in and picked up a Pelikan M405 as a pocket jotter. The extra fine nib isn't quite as fine as I'm used to, but might just need to try some drier inks!
It's currently fighting for position against an ebonite Shawn Newton pen, which is probably the most satisfying pen I currently own.

Parker Vac that I got from Paul Erano in DC. I sent it to Jeff of Powers Pen Co. for a new sac and freshening up. Man O' man did it come back in stunning shape!

visconti voyager.jpg
Arrived a couple of days ago from Oz, a NOS Visconti Voyager. Incredible amber, a real stunner in my eyes, and a 14k medium nib. Very happy. However, the nib seems to have a tiny sweet spot and noticeable scratchiness in most directions. I can't see anything obviously wrong with it. Can anyone here suggest someone central London-based who could take a look at it? (I could wait for the London show I suppose. I have a Radius that needs a little nib whispering and was hoping to get it seen to there.)
Many thanks and happy Friday,
LP

My Jinhao X750 has arrived. I believe this finish is generally known as "Shimmering Sands".

The sharp-eyed will have noted that it doesn't have the original nib. It has been swapped for a JoWo #6 fine nib, and also the converter is now a Schmidt unit. Both these were done by Julian Manning, who I bought the pen from.

Another Pelikan 100 from the fleamarket:
...already completely overhauled and ready to write.
I really love to work on these well built pens. Have a look at here:

And a Pelikan 140 from 1960's from the same flea market batch.
Nothing uncommon, but great condition, that's why I'll add it to my collection.

My newest pen, one of Karas Kustoms INKs, with the Keracote painted finish. I call it my 57 Chevy INK, with a medium Ti nib. Ignore the background, I was really excited to open the box.

Platinum #3776 Century - Chartres Blue - soft-fine nib
This was an "accidental" ebay purchase. I saw the listing with a couple of minutes left and a bid of $49. I stuck in a bid of $50 and was surprised to win it at this price. I didn't even notice the nib size! I use mediums, broads, and stubs, so this fine nib may be a bit too narrow for my tastes, but I'll give it a try for a few days.

Yes, one can get a bit of line variation, but with my normal writing pressure I don't see much variation. Here's a review that shows the variation you can get: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_YbbxUGDiM
