Sheaffer Fineline, Black and Gold, Sheaffer Wasp, Black with Gold Trim. I'm assuming the Fineline is a Fine nib, it writes like one. Wasp is an Extra Fine. Both lovely writers. Wasp restored by yours truly.

Awaiting a couple of Touchdowns and an Eagle. Gonna be fun, fun, fun!

This absolutely perfect 1955 Pelikan 120, which looks like it could have left the factory yesterday and writes perfectly.IMG_0824.jpg

They arrived today! I purchased a Pilot Custom 743 with a falcon nib. It's flexy, but I didn't take any pictures because....

...the real excitement is inside this red leather case.

Inside the red leather case is a trademark that may be unfamiliar to western eyes. Centropen was a Czechoslovakian brand, and this pen and pencil set is a Centropen from the 1960s. The pen is celluloid with a flexible gold nib which is honestly the most flexible nib I've ever used. I believe Centropen still exists in the Czech Republic.

The chattoyance of this pen is amazing.

    Nice gold nib.

And here is some writing which, for some reason, I did on the back of a receipt.

And, just because, here is the video I spontaneously uploaded to my channel while trying to learn the Windows video world. I've figured out the video part. Now, captions, etc...

The "Dolphin" Sheaffer 500 Imperial in burgundy and chrome cap.

I got this beauty hidden among Sheaffer student pens. The seal at the barrel seems to be in good enough condition to create vacuum. Opening the metal sac protector reveals no sac... or more precisely, the old sac is clinging for dear life (and doing a marvelous job) on the inner walls of the metal tube.

1 hour (on and off) scraping session later, the tube was clean. I inserted a #15 sac that fit nicely, trim it so the metal tube will fit snugly on the section, and the pen is ready for testing. If the pen passes my writing tests for a couple of days, I'll shellac the ink sac and put some talc to keep the metal tube nice and dry (no rust).

Happily the sac fills with ink without a problem, and the "Dolphin" is ready to swim once more:

These are the pens I got from the Dallas Pen Show.

They are (L to R) Cross Botanica Dark Primrose, Regal Alice, Franklin Christoph Pocket 66, US Swan, Green Striped Majestic, Green Diamond Point, Candy stiped Diamond Point, Black and Silver Diamond Point, Silver (?) topped Diamond point, and a bottle of Papier Plume Mardi Gras Indians

Holy cow - don't hate me, but those last six pens are killin' me!! What great pens from that era! Nice catches! (of course, I love the 66P, too)

    Hi, Jon,

I love those Diamond Points. The Swan is a lovely, dainty thing. The top of the cap and the bottom of the barrel are of the same material as the celluloid on the barrel. It was a great buy at $20. It has a 14K nib. I did have Danny Fudge resac it. But I love all of them. The seller had a fairly big lot of Diamond Points. It was hard to choose (and stay within my budget).

Next year, please stop by Pete's Pen Shop table and say hi to my wife and I

What a nice haul, those gorgeous celluloids. I'm telling you, here in the are we have a lot of good vintage pen sellers. And I love the ink bottle from Papier Plume, very classy with the wax thing.

Well done! In true serendipitous and/or synchronicitous fashion, I just picked up a little Diamond Point from Rick Krantz, awaiting delivery. I've gotten most of the Moore's I choose to look for, now I fear another rabbit hole opening beneath my feet...
