Oh Lord Scooby!
Penwash talks me out of wanting a Nakaya and then you do this.
Just fantastic.

I also just bought a Stresemann in broad, and have sent it off to Pendleton Brown for his BLS treatment. Can hardly wait to get it back!
I had a happy score: saw a listing come up with a circa-1930 Parker Duofold Jr. and a Parker Striped Duofold Sr.(blue/black/silver) for a BIN of $55.00. They looked a little rough, but showed up today and turned out it was mostly dirt and bad photography! I'll share pics when I've done a little more restoration (ewww, this will be my first Vacumatic restore on my own, after taking a class a couple months ago).
All in all, though, a very pleasing find. I've wanted one of those striped models for a long time, and this one found me.

I selected specific words in English and sammyo and his wife (she's Japanese) were kind enough to translate into kanji for me. Technically I was going for Truth, Courage, Faith, and Power, but the definition of power I was using is "strength", so that works. I'm glad you were able to read them and translate back into exactly what they are intended to be!

A platinum cool with the finest nib I've ever used, like a pin. Prior to that (a week) a mb starwalker.
Eversharp Symphony 2nd Generation -- Model 707 original price $3.75 (from the sticker on the body) -- in burgundy.
The nib is delicious and can produce some satisfying flex:

Just in, this delightful Gold Starry 33. I love my GS's, as the company had some of the nicest celluloids going, and this is particularly sweet. It's just 11cm long, and has a gold 'Gold Starry' no 2 nib, with a little star as decoration.
For those who don't know the brand, it started off importing English pens (I seem to remember from Conway Stewart?) and then started its own production - which is why the pen is proudly marked on the barrel 'Fabrication Francaise'.

An Eversharp Equi-Poised Vest Pocket pen. I have never seen one with the almost delicate pocket clip intact and in good condition like this one:

Ok, here's a grouping of the Before pics (from the auction), and what the pens look like now. the Jr. is completely restored, and is a wonderful little writer (also surprised me how, when posted, it's just like a grown-up pen!). The Senior is being cranky about letting out the filler, and I don't want to risk cracking the barrel, so I'm taking my time; exterior cleanup shows a nice pen, and dipping shows it, too, to be a good writer, though the nib had a mishap sometime in its life. Still pleased with this find!

Nice job!
Allways nice to see when old pens come back to life.

The newly released Fountain K Mini:
I saw the mini Render K (ballpoint) at the Dallas Pen Show and almost bought it just because of the size and form.
Then I almost bought the ballpoint and the fountain pen conversion kit, when they released the fountain pen version. I ordered it immediately and voila! One of the coolest machined (anything) I've ever laid my eyes upon.

Yesterday my mother gave me this pen. I think it's a Parker Junior, UK made, 1970s. Belonged to my father, and has clearly seen a lot of use. Has a cracked cap and a bent clip, and the engraving on the barrel is almost worn away.
Wondering if it's worth restoring, and if so, who could do it.
