I don't have a photo at the present time, but Monday a burgundy Parker 45 with 14k A (Accountant) nib arrived. It is taking a little to get used to, as the nib is so fine it requires a shallower angle than other 45's I have.

Mine have been mostly going the other way. Just realised that there was a P51 in the back of the pen cup, so onto the Bay for 99c it goes. Hopefully should get at least a couple of bucks for it. Put up the last bottle of Dark Lilac too. Never going to open it.

In more surreal news, I gave my Ranga thing to a guy on approval prior to sale (dead cheap price I was asking too), and the guy just gave it back! It was a steal as I was offering it at a price that was in line with what they sell for at the point of origin (true value IMO) and not what they sell for internationally. Oh well, stuck with it for the time being.

The most recent incoming was a random purchase of a Bexley Prometheus that came with a broad nib that I tossed out (if I want a Sharpie I'll buy one) and replaced with something sensible. It's an okay pen I guess. Fit and finish are of acceptable standards without being in any way exceptional. Cap finial has a habit of loosening over time, rendering the clip loose, and the converter rattles in the body. Bit of a waste of money to brutally honest.

Just ordered a Mentmore (or could be Platignum not sure) Visi-Ink bulb filler, nib was described as 14k broad with some flex... if it's anything like my Mentmore Auto-Fill lever filler, I'ma gonna be a happy happy boy.

A rather unusual Onoto: a 5123 in lapis. Looks promising (seller's snap).

I'd love to try a paintbrush. Never seen one though, and no idea how to spot them. It's a conspiracy I tells ya!

I have been so busy that I have mostly been lurking here. I recently scored two Recife Crystal pens (one M and one F). I love the way they feel, and the fact that they are designed as eyedroppers. The nibs are steel, but the two I got are smooth and pleasant. No pictures yet, but once I get something worth while on paper, I will try to post it.

I also bought one of the Conklin Heritage Word Gauge pens. It was an extravagance, and maybe not the best pen I have purchased, but I am enjoying it. The steel nib is not bad, but some of them need a little adjustment to fit your taste. This pen that tells you how many thousands of words you have left in your reservoir. The only downside: I am working on an article, and it tells me how many words I can write, but it does not in fact make me write more or any better.

I have a Mentmore Visi-Ink bulb-filler. It was a very pretty blue and gold pattern, but sadly made from Casein which foolishly I tried to clean with water so the cap swelled and fell apart. It now has New York Swan cap in green marble which clashes horribly with the blind cap at the other end! Please be careful in case yours is made from this attractive but irritating material! I love the way bulb fillers owrks; so satisfying!

I'm sure there are much more helpful reviews and comparisons out there, but I hope my crude photos serve as a start.

I have two Sonnets (one is shown below) and I find its fit and finish to be excellent. I personally prefer slightly smaller pens and Sonnets are about perfect in size and weight for me. The 75 is a bit thinner, slightly shorter and lighter. But the difference is noticeable in the hand.

I felt the 75 to be better balanced when posted; the Sonnet is just a tad more back heavy.

Aesthetically speaking, I find the rounded curves of the Sonnet more modern, whereas the 75 is clearly from an older era, not vintage, but perhaps more classic.

I like them both, admire the 75 for its slim, aged elegance, but favour the Sonnet for longer writing sessions. I might end up prefer the 75 nib, but will need more time to write with it to be sure.

    YMMV.

Thank you for the compliment and have fun with that ink and pen, the ink quickly became a favorite. FWIW, most of my pictures are done with my phone or iPad mini (1st gen) even though I own a DSLR.

I received the Onoto 5123 yesterday and have rebuilt it and cleaned it up a bit. It is tiny: 4" capped, but delightful. The nib is fine and flexible:5123 B.jpg
