Another "Fire and Coal" celluloid pen branded: Hamilton.

Would be a great match for Hamilton watch owners.

Oh no! That's not fair - look at the pens all those "gilded" sellers (as I call them) have on ebay! - For example, one of them got £157 for a Waterman's 513 last week - and it was fitted with a W3 nib... On the same day I got £111 for my beautiful L205/62!

    Perhaps I'll retire too!

As you know I have a W3 and a W5; lovely pens but £157? I think mine cost a third of that or less.
Some days, it's hardly worth chewing through the leather straps....

It's been a while so I actually have a few pens I've picked up over the last several months. Two pleasantly surprising Faber Castell pens, an ebony Classic and a coconut wood Ambition. I hadn't tried the brand before but now wish I had previously. I've also picked up two Kara's Kustom pens, an Ink in tumbled aluminum and a Delrin Fountain K. Both are pretty nice as well.

That's right and a third of that price would be very fair. My point was the a 513 should not have a nib stamped W3 - the W3 nib of course belongs to a W3 pen! As far as I can remember the 513 had a 3 nib - as its cousin the 515 has a 5.

I'm not sure how that L442E ended up in your possession because it definitely has my name on it. I was hooked as soon as I tried it on Saturday :-)

For writing, I liked the larger of Cob's other two - chased BCHR were they? But aesthetically... yeah, i'm a sucker for flat-tops, especially in jade .

A trip to Vanves flea market at the weekend - not as good as usual, lots of very broken pens, but found a nice large French red mottled celluloid lever filler, a French Parker (looks like Slimfold/Duofold, but it's a button filler with just 'Parker France' stamped on the barrel - unfortunately the nib is a replacement), and a lovely little Edacoto red ripple lever filler.

No ten euro Pelikan 100s though....

Yes that was the No 8 Safety Screw Cap; BHR indeed, the chasing largely worn away. But No 8s are awfully rare, especially non-Eternals like that one.

This isn’t my latest acquisition, however it has remained inked and in use since May 2015 when I acquired it. It’s a Swan with a #6 nib.
