Not quite so Vintage , but my first flex, and enjoying it. Might need to press harder to get the flex shown above though...

A few bits and pieces have arrived. Here's a curiosity: a silver overlay (stamped "sterling) eyedropper.
No maker's name, but the nib is a splendid Eversharp USA, stamped "flexible" which it is.

Eversharp flexible nibs are top-notch. The older they are they better they seemed to be.

I've been writing with another new aquistion, and man, this is such a nice writer.
So last January I managed to get a small bit of Omas celluloid (two 10 cm rods) in the Burkina pattern, which a wonderful swirling yellow tone with black dots and streaks going through it. I sent it out to be made into a pen, and yesterday, I finally got it -- a Scriptorium Aeterna made by Renee Meeks. I also got an ebonite JoWo housing and feed, which does an amazing job.
The photos are a mix of those that Renee took and those I took.
From left, Hakase CW15C, Scriptorium Aeterna in Tibaldi Impero celluloid, Scriptorium Aeterna in Burkina celluloid, and a charcoal Lamy Safari
One of the coolest things about this pen is the ebonite feed and housing that flexiblenib.com made. These should be made available for purchase soon. I plan to slowly replace all my JoWo and Bock nib units with ebonite feeds and housings once they are available as ebonite really reduces ink starvation and other issues you sometimes find in plastic-feeds. This pen has been filled with Sailor Doyou Brown, one of my go-to inks, and it's been so lovely to write with.
It's really hard to photograph Burkina in a way that shows all it's depth. The black dots sink into the material and then emerge from the sea of gold/yellow tones. It's really a fascinating -- and beautiful -- pen mateial.

A very respectable early English Swan SF2 with New York nib, so probably dating it to around 1921. It has the bonus feature of an 18ct gold band to the cap.SF2 1.jpg

A Graf Von Faber Castell Anello titanium with an ef nib, some witch craft has clearly happened, because the ef nib is silky smooth and wet.

Three months waiting for this. At least I got it before the last season.

The Blue Whale (at the back). An ergonomic oblique pen holder handcrafted by Olga and Arseniy (AZwoodUA on Etsy), sitting on a rough hewn (though polished) hunk of wood as a stand.
The others, if anyone is vaguely interested, are (from left to right)
An Hourglass oblique from Paper & Ink Arts (this is a replacement for one I broke and couldn't fix. Currently looking for a suitable straight holder because the Hourglass is not great at holding a crowquill mapping pen)
A pair of more regular obliques in interesting materials from Chris Yoke - probably the best penmaker out there today, and certainly one of the most customer friendly ones.
Another ergonomic holder made by Melanie of EnglishPenCrafts (Etsy). This is one is a bit special to me as it is made from English Yew. Very comfortable and warm in the hand.
Next is what I am led to believe is a copy of a Tower Strahm holder, and next to that is I believe and original Tower Strahm. The flanges on these are not as user friendly as more modern brass ones.
Finally, two holders from Howard Simms in the US. These were both broken in an accidental sitting incident. The Excelsior snapped around the inlay. The longer holder snapped about a quarter of the tail off. Managed to repair both. The Exclesior was much harder to make the pieces fit again, and this can be seen if you look closely (but not in the photo), the other was easier but the glued join is easier to see.
I realise that many might view these as merely expensive sticks, compared to fountain pens, but they lend me a measure of joy.
