You think that's poor handwriting!? I'll show you poor handwriting!

Wahl ringtop acquired from a kind seller here. My first flex nib.

Aww, it's so cute! Fortuitous that it is so teensy and portable. Really fun to write with too. I see what all the flex fuss is about now.

I'm a great enthusiast for National Security Pens, and had llong wanted to find a Rosemary pen.

This one is very nice albeit an absolute crib of a contemporary Parker Duofold - a stud filler, it even has a "Christmas Tree" feed!

Very naughty, but very well done. I have the Parker version and if your photos are an accurate reproduction, it appears that the body and cap of yours have discoloured or faded differently in the same way that my Parker has.

Yes the barrel is slightly darker - but I have a Parker Duofold in similar material that is much worse!

A danish coral red MB "4", with a very nice EF nib.

It´s made between 1937 and 1946, it came in sizes 2, 4 and 6 ( i have the size 2 in 3 different lenghts), and also in black.

I have a weakness for Dupont objects, pens or lighters or whatever. Just bought this Bond Fountain. I adore this pen and it’s packaging... even the laser inside. Awesome stuff...

I have actually had this one for some time - I had to have the nib re-tipped (ouch!), but now it works.Sample.jpgNib.jpg

No, it's not anything exotic. Lamy Safari, Charcoal, XF, arrived in the mail yesterday.

So far, loving the smooth feel of the nib with hint of pleasant feedback. Also, digging the style, color, and ergonomics. I see why they are so highly recommended.

I really wanted the Petrol but couldn't justify the cost.

Hard to beat those vintage Waterman's nibs. The re-tipping job looks great. That nib's got flex written all over it. Very nice.

Thanks. It is nice, but not especially flexible - and being an oblique stub, it is a strict disciplinarian!

I’ve made yet another Dupont purchase This Atelier line is just beautiful!! I bought the pen and the lighter. Something about Palladium and Purple really appeals.

At the end of last year TWSBI expanded its production capacity by opening a new factory in mainland China. They already had a subsidiary there.

To celebrate the new factory and the new year they launch two mainland China-exclusive ECOs, in pale Powder Blue and Powder Pink. I really liked the blue one, so ordered one from Taobao, but it made sense to buy the pink one at the same time as it added nothing to the shipping costs. I’ll move the pink one on and sell it shortly.

I haven’t unpacked the two pens yet (they come in standard TWSBI plastic boxes) to photograph them, so here is the publicity photo released by TWSBI, annotated by blogger Frank Underwater.

A vintage French "Old Chap" with 18 carats (what else?) EF flex nib lever-filler in emerald ray celluloid. It's an odd name for a French pen. It needs cleaning and a bit of love.

I think there was a fashion for English sounding pen names in France at the time. Old Chap, Stylochap, Evergood, Walkover, Oldwin, and I've even found Eric and Talisman...

That is one good-looking pen you have there. And flex too! lucky you.

Thank you for the information about fashionable pen names in period France. The man I bought this from is an American dealer who has more vintage French pens than anyone I know in North America. He knew to contact me because I collect pens made of "ray" celluloid (Waterman's used it for their Ink-Vue pens).

About a week ago my Noodler's Boston Safety Pen arrived and I have used nothing else since. I started with X-Feather in it, but now have 54th Massachusetts. (Polar Purple was in it for a while.). It does not leak or give me any kind of trouble. It is not a pen for everybody. It requires some thought and care when uncapping and extending or retracting the nib. But thought and care are inexpensive and even enjoyable. I do not do flex, particularly, but I get some line variation with the Noodler's nib that came with it. It is useful as a fine nib with a little character.
I love the color of the ebonite. It is called Chestnut. The black is a deep, shiny black. And the brown warm and relaxing. I intend to travel with this pen and use it for journaling while away from home. I may report back to FPG about my experiences doing that.
