Beautiful pen. Did it really take MB 13 years to make it?

I also got this danish MB 25 masterpiece, it´s a push-botton filler, and was made from 1935 to 1946, the clip should have been a papyrus (fluted) clip, so i will have to find one.

It´s similar to the german version, except for the cap that tapers, and the star that is smaller, on the cap comparison picture the german pen is on the right (with the right clip), compared to the dansih version.

This one took a while. It was part of a group buy that was begun over a year ago. I chose the from exoticblanks.com their Lava Explosions #12 - Copper Mountain. It is a bit darker than I originally expected based on the exoticblanks website photo, but still great. Pictures do not do it justice.

Capped this is huge. My ruler says 158 mm. Uncapped 150 mm and about 13 mm in diameter and about 9 mm at smallest point. (using a ruler and not calipers since I don't have them) I took both capped and uncapped shots.

One of my cigar box cases it does not fit in, as it is up to about 5 mm to long. The one it does fit in, there is about 5 or 6 mm from end of the pen to the box wall when the other end is touching the wall. (thinner outer walls)

Have filled it with Diamine Ancient Copper for first fill. (B nib)

Photos done with other pens I have to give scale.... Esterbrook J, Parker 45, the TWSBI 580 and Eco and Lamy Al Star are my largest pens.

    Hi,
This is my first post...so be gentle!!
This is my most recent pen purchase a Sailor King of Pen "Asian Way"
The nib is a Broad 21k gold, i have the same nib on a Sailor 1911 Large but the writing experience is very different in that the 1911 nib is stiffer, not as wet and the line is slightly thinner...is that normal?
I would appreciate any comments or feedback.
    Many thanks,
    Ken.

Here are my "new" Esties. Bought to practice replacing sacs. One of em already had that done before I got it. Two have nib/feed issues (I have some replacements on the way...)

Edit: I forgot to mention, the red one came in its box:

My latest acquisition- I've been considering buying this for ages, and finally plucked up the courage to order it. Although I already own pens more expensive than this, this was definately my grail pen - Onoto Magna Classic

Very nice. If the red one is the same length and diameter as the black one it is a J not an LJ. LJ's are more slender than the J model but the same length.

The black pen on the far right of the attached photo is an LJ. To its left are J pens in black, gray, green, copper. The blue is a transitional and the red an SJ. (Box on left)

Thanks for the info-- i was going off of http://www.richardspens.com/index_m....profiles/j.htm

For the curious: The longest of the three pens are the red and black. The black is substantially thicker than the red or grey. The grey is shortest and about the same girth as the red. Only the black pen has a large cap jewel and small barrel jewel. The other pens use the small jewel.

I got this M800 Brown Tortoise not too long ago off of FPGeeks market. Love this pen to bits. Not my first one, but definitely the first that has a really beautiful pattern all around the barrel. I also managed to get a factory oblique broad for it - a modern one with a single chick design so it fits the pen timeline as well. The nib is basicaly an oblique stub. Fantastic combo, could not be more happy about it.

(I had to trim this collection a bit since, as one does when he and his entire family plus dog have to go on surgery within a month...holy smokes batman, life can get expensive real fast)

I got this 236 recently, a very nice sized pen, with a rather flexible smooth steel nib, and the wonderful two-stage telescopic filler.

Here's a handsome Blackbird. Mabie Todd had some lovely materials - I think this one is especially nice.
    BB2_62.jpg

There is also a nice little puzzle: the pen is stamped BB2/62 on the end of its barrel. The material is of course not the famous wine & silver used only on early Swan Leverless pens, it is in fact the /41 - Almond green. I have been told of another Blackbird with the same error; perhaps an entire batch was stamped incorrectly. I should love to have a Swan L245 or 445 in this stuff!

That Mabie Todd stamper guy! Always taking days off so things don't get stamped at all, taking a liquid lunch and getting it wrong! And yet he lasted there for more than fifty years!

I am in fact, convinced that he was in love with a girl in the accounts department, so either he wasn't there at all (whispering sweet nothings in her ear) as evidenced by the large number of pens that were never stamped or, when he was not loitering in Accounts, he was so distracted and lovestruck that errors occurred...

My Caran d'Ache Rotation came in today. M nib. Very nice looking.
0.5mm vs 0.7mm graphite sizes is much like 9mm vs 45acp...they both work if you know what you are doing. - me

Looking for Caran d'Ache Type 55 2mm set and Rotation .7 pencils.
