@Calamus, I believe that type of nib securing mechanism is called a Brahma clip, that's if I accurately remember what I've seen (not certain). Beautiful agate, and the shape is very appealing.

Thanks - I like lapis lazuli Swans...
This one has a longer section and a flatter turning knop than my L212/60, so I suspect it to be an early version...

I found Marion Grove's lovely Duofold in the wild yesterday while browsing the antiques markets. She took great care of her pen and didn't chew on it. Just give it a little time for restoration.

I've slowed way down on purchases but I've had my eye on this one for a while. This is a NOS Sheaffer Legacy in brushed platinum and gold. Originally intended as a rollerball, I've converted this to a fountain pen with a Legacy 18k M nib, as I love the look of the barrel without the separation of a 'blind cap'; another one became the rollerball. Such a perfect pen for me, in use and aesthetic. Just don't ask me to talk about it.

Wow. Brings back memories of my boss at “Ma Bell” back in the 1960s who had this pen in black. If anyone touched it, he somehow knew and would go on the warpath ranting that his nib would be “ruined by cretins!”

The only problem I have with my Sheaffer Legacy Silver Interrupted Barley pattern pen is the fact that it's a V1 with the blind cap and "touchdown filler." I would dearly love to convert it to just a twist action converter filler without all of the "touchdown stuff" inside it. Sticking the blind cap on is not a problem. After all one can't get the O-rings for this pen so it doesn't matter whether you convert it or not. Right?

Superb pen and even better photography, just perfect.

Two antique store finds :

A Sheaffer Snorkal Valiant in pastel green, along with a Snorkel magazine ad from the same location (but different stall). I polished up the nib, and restored it with new sac and seals.





And a Parker Duofold Vacumatic (DuoVac) that will need a restoration (diaphragm/sac crumbled) by someone other than myself as I don't have the tools or experience with vacumatics (can handle sac pens tho), and possibly a nib replacement (the left tip/tine was bent exactly 90 degrees to the left, you can see the bump when I carefully used my thumbnail to push it back, it's 'usable' but for how long til the tip gives is anyone's guess)



It's appearance the day I got it last month (which was my wedding day, but I had to kill some time as I wasn't allowed to be near the venue as they were getting ready)
