That's a beaut! I've always like the BCHR Conklin crescent pens. No luck in finding one in that condition though.

    Sorry about using seller's pics...

That will take time and patience. You might want to send your barrel to Pete Kirby to see if he can fit a cap.

Or find a generic that can slip over 10mm or so.

I just returned from a walk to the post office (sending my little brother my father’s Parker 88 and some cartridges), and stopped into the local art store for the first time. They have a bargain bin and I found 2 Parker 51s, some Platignum cartridges (I have an old Platignum that I have never inked), and a bottle of Pelikan Edelstein Star Ruby. The 12k gold filled 51 had ink in it, writes, and I can’t tell if the nib is gold plated, but I think so. The lustralloy capped one has a crack in the barrel so I need to replace it.

Franklin-Christoph Model 31 Omnis in Ukrainian Solidarity colors. Each time I pick it up and write I can say a prayer for those suffering in that country. It is also a reminder to work for peace, even in small ways.

This Wahl 322AW from the local downtown mall. It's been sitting there for least 6+ years (I remember it when I first looked). Decided to ask the desk if they were able to contact the booth owner about having it reduced, even if I could just take the nib out for them so they could keep it for scrap value since I intended to replace it with my spare manifold nib. They decided to knock it down half of what they had listed just to get it gone.

Nib missing tipping and with the indent and angle seems like there was an attempt to yank the nib out with a pair of pliers (possible gold scrapping attempt).

Next to my other metal Wahls, 214AW, 322AW, 431A.

Note the edit banner at the bottom of my post—I should have included the make and model (and what little I know about the date of manufacture) to begin with.
Radonactionservices, it is the original huge glorious 2-tone (reversible) extra nib. Unfortunately it is at the moment a remarkably uninteresting writer…not nearly as soft as my last extra nib and tooth and dry. I will have to have it tuned and maybe stubbed…although as it’s an intact nib in original condition the latter grates the historically-minded part of myself.

I do like their stub nibs. I have a 580ALR with a 1.1. Great for Christmas cards.

From a collector's standpoint, you will damage this valuable pen's value if you grind away the tip of the nib. But if it's a keeper, then by all means, make it work for you. Another solution would be to install another nib ground to spec, while keeping the original nib in the event of a resale.

    It's a lovely pen!
