Parker #25 Jack Knife Safety Short Model - Black Smooth Hard Rubber Cap - Gold Filled Clip & Wide Cap Band - REDDISH AMBER TRANSPARENT BAKELITE BARREL! - Button Fill (No # On Blind Cap)

Because it's Bakelite. We will not mention that when I saw the email for the new listings, my heart began to race and my breathing got faster. We will not mention that I felt dizzy and excited. We will not mention that I do not need this pen any more than the many other pens I have.

Finally acquired the altogether lovely Waterman Edson Sapphire Blue! This example is white glove perfect. And my pen budget is just now recovering after several months of abstinence. But I am not complaining...much!

Very interesting. Am I correct in assuming the ballpoint started life as a fountain pen? Do you have a date on the Emerald Green?

The ballpoint is a Retrofit made by Carl Seidl, start life as fountain pen. I don't have a date on the green Vac, but the filler unit is from the 3rd generation.

I just received a pen a couple of days ago that completely surpassed all expectations. It is the 2nd pen in my collecting history that I have chased for seven years, and that hunt was based on seeing the pen in only one photo. (I haven't had time to take pics, so I'm posting the photo I've saved all those years that inspired me).

The pen is a Nettuno Superba, made in 1996 by the modern iteration of an Italian/family pen brand that dates to 1911. The pen is based off of a model that they made in 1929 and is very similar. It is made from a musk green/gold celluloid that has incredible depth, and features a unique (odd?) system that is both a modified button-fill or will take standard cartridge/converters. 18k gold nib writes beautifully, carrying the initials of the grand-daughter (and later owner) of the founder. The pen I received is #276 of 911 pieces. Photos to come in the days ahead, but I am once again completely in love with a pen.

Well done Jon. I'm always pleased to hear when someone manages to get a pen that they have chased for a long time. Hope you enjoy it.

What a beautiful vintage look. It's not hard to see why you never gave up on the quest for that stunner, Jon.

Nice! I have a couple of these and one in particular has a to-die-for nib on it. Alas, it is simply too thin for me to write with comfortable. I've even gone so far as using those foam things you slip on pencils to cushion the grip. It... kinda helps.

    Have fun with it!

The thinness is the best part, my quadriped grip really takes to it. I These particular gold plated nibs are really nice, I have my baby blue Fashion inked now and loooove it. I feel like I have seen the same nib on a thicker pen of the same era, but I can’t recall where I saw it or what it was. Probably the bay or Peyton Street.
