Both are amazing but that Estie set is a catch!! Congrats.

I just got mine in the post. I need all the glow in the dark TWSBI. No one sees it but it's neat to know that it glows.

It's a good start to the day when you win the rare variant pen that you put a snipe on for about 1/5 of what you were willing to pay! I just landed this Moore, in a color/variant I not only hadn't seen, but didn't even know existed. I have pinstripes in red, blue, and silver, and soon in brown.

This is the 2nd latest but actually arrived yesterday. A new beauty arrived and I am taken with it. Leonardo x Stilo & Stile "Cometa". I never, ever wanted a glitter pen, but the acrylic on this pen was sand-blasted to a matte finish, lending a very 'night sky' look to it, with little muted sparkles that evoke stars. The gentle tactility in the hand is a bonus, as is the handsome, in-house “La Fenice” nib. #155/180 in this limited edition run.

I just added to my collection ( I hate to label my writing instruments ' as collective pieces ' but unfortunately that is how I call this addition of pens as it it getting collected as time goes on )
This time I got my GRAIL PEN a majestic Mabie Todds dip pen belongs to the year 1890 in great shape.
It is with a No 6 Huge flex dip nib that is still out of control on my soft/ light writing in my trained hand to write cursive writing. But it is really a true admirable writing tool.

I just came home from holiday travel to find I won the auction on a Sheaffer OS Balance. Not that I didn't have a pen like this, but I hunted it down specifically for the nib (so many of them are fines and x-fines). Looking forward to receiving it!

I feel somewhat lost among all these sterling examples, but I got a pastel yellow Jinhao 82. It's pretty, if a somewhat reluctant writer. Maybe it's the ink.

They’re all good pens, they’re like puppies- some are AKC and have a mile long pedigree, some are no name or bargain mutts, but they bring happiness!

I was probably a little cryptic. Anyway (Fred knows most of this...)

I've been collecting and using Sheaffer Oversize Balance pens, and specifically the lever fill models. I'm about 75% of the way to a complete set (all 12 materials) and I also have a few duplicates when I found some very beat-up examples to use for parts, etc. In this particular era, there are a LOT of fine and extra fine nibs, fewer mediums and anything other than that are pretty rare and/or quite pricey.

I'm left-handed and prefer slightly wider tips, as well as very much liking italic/stub style nibs. I always keep an eBay watch on OS Balances, and the above pen popped up. I decided how much it was worth to me - primarily for the nib. I set a snipe and went away for 2 days with family gatherings. I got the pen, essentially outbidding anyone else and putting it easily in the category where I can swap the nib (and section/feed) into an existing pen, and still be able to sell one for a reasonable price and basically buy myself a nice nib. The pen comes from Rob Lott at Five Star Pens so I know the description will match the pen I receive.

    That's the (long) story!
