Seems like a nice thread to make my first post. A little something arrived with the post this morning:

    pen in hand.jpg

It's a Swan Self Filler SM112B/60 with a very flexible #1 nib. Seen here with a Noodler's Nib Creaper to give an idea of how big it isn't:

Kaweco Liliput with EF nib...it's currently filled with Waterman Florida Blue. I'll likely change to Noodler's Black. I like the small size despite missing having a clip.

Parker fp plus some unknown ballpoint pen - both in miserable shape. Prolly okay as spare parts pens.

Nice old pen case that got tossed in for free.
A bit of gentle work with a suitable soap and some water, then I think it will look nice again.

Isn't your unknown Parker a 45? And a very nice 51! If it works that's a very good catch anyway.
BTW, that first 3-pen set looks very dangerously like a bordeaux MB rip-off.

Hi peterpen, and thanks for the input.
I looked up the 45, and that's what it is! Thanks.
I have just cleaned and flushed the 51, it works perfectly, so I'm happy about that.
The three pen set is chinese, and that's the main reason why I got it cheaply.

I cleaned the other Parkers as well, that beat-up Parker from the red box is rather nice, despite it being fairly worn and all, it's a button filler.

    DSC_3371.JPG

A closer look at the nib. I'm at the Parker Penography page, trying to identify it.

    Then there's the 45:

    DSC_3377.JPG

    And the 51 after cleaning:

The latest is my first Edison, a Purple Web Celluloid, with a stainless JoWo 1.1 mm. stub.
The material is devilishly hard to photograph. Stunning in the hand & in good light.pearl 1-1.jpg

Nice V.S BikerBabe! (The beat up button filler you have). I had one once and was entranced by the clear feed.

So basically the purple web celluloid always looks black unless you put bring light right next to it? It is very cool either way.

I just picked up a fairly rare Waterman Red Ripple #7 with Brown nib. At the same time I got a Yellow nib for a pen I have had for years. I originally bought the Yellow #7 pen years ago, but it had a Red nib in it. Recently I was able to find a Yellow nib, so in effect I have two new pens for my #7 Ripple collection. I had another #7 that had an incorrect Emblem nib, so I used the spare Red keyhole nib to make another correct Red #7.

Here are the Yellow and Brown pens:

And a close-up of the nibs and color bands:

Reminds me of an Art Deco lamp, very cool. It's a gorgeous pen, and very comfortable to write with.

My latest addition is to my small Parker collection. They are from left to right:
    1. Pearl and Black vein Parker Duofold Snr made in Canada (missing the pocket clip, discoloured barrel and cap).
    2. Pearl and Black vein Parker Duofold Jnr made in the USA.
    3. Pearland green vein Parker Duofold Juniorette made in Canada.
    4. Unmarked pen of identical size and dimensions to the Pearl and Black vein Parker Duofold Jnr but it has an English Warranted 14ct Gold nib.

You would have to get those just for the B.B. initials.

Golly another great from your flea market. The Parker 51 looks very nice.

Not proficient enough at computers to "quote" Fountainpenkid, but to answer:

Purple Web Celluloid (nitrate) is a very dark purple plastic that has some silvery, powder-like highlights through it, when strong enough light hits its outer surface.
In low light it registers as black. On thinner parts of the pen, the light shines through it showing a random web pattern.
It also smells quite good when uncapped.
Make the best of each day & be thankful.....
