John a belated congratulations on your Visconti Opera club Blue Typhoon it has wonderful colouring and patterns.

Also Tracy Lee that Delta has the most marvellous swirling. A cream and liqorice combo. A very snazzy stub nib with rose gold too. yummy.
The black looks almost like HS lava in the photo.

It feels very much the same as the HS, but smoother. No shiny lacquer over the top. When I showed it to the Mister, he said it looked like fudge to him. That handmade swirly type. I couldn't dispute the analogy once I heard it. Like dark chocolate and marshmallow.

Tracy, I like the color of the rose gold and your Delta's pattern is very beautiful.

    Three recent arrivals:

    P1000752.JPG

Caption written with the pictured Cross Century II, Parker Quink blue-black ink.

I love the custom italic/stub nibs offered in the Italix series, but their pens are generally too heavy for my taste. Then I realised that I can order any pen sold on MrPen.co.uk and ask them to custom grind the nib, for less than GBP 10 extra. Crazy good deal! (No affiliation, just a delirious customer.)

My first Visconti, one of those Limited Editions made for Fahrney's. The 14K nib is such a pleasure to use.

The Carene hasn't entered my rotation yet. Can hardly wait!

Kaisnowbird that is a great looking Opera Club - the dark material with a swirl of gold/amber really sets if off. Those 14k nibs are nice to use aren't they.

Writingrav congrats on the Parker vacumatic and colour matched ink.

Hi, it uses .7 mm lead and has the twist mechanism.

Last Sunday, I was amazed to see this rare pen on eBay, and it had a BIN price. Now it wasn't super cheap, but was a lot less than these usually sell for. It had a couple of obvious problems - there was a chip in the section lip and it was missing the clip ball. I quickly purchased it. Here is what it looked like to start with.

As you can see, the nib looks a little questionable too. The pen had some really nasty old dried ink, maybe India ink, in it, also. Anyway, after receiving the pen on Thursday, here is what it looked like on Friday.

Incidentally, for the clip ball I used a 5mm sterling silver earring. Worked great! Feel like Sumgai!

Im going to do a review later today of it...

    But,
I did get the sac version. It can be taken out, with some cleaning off of shellac, and then used as an eyedropper.
It has an Iridium Point Germany nib.
Nib is between a fine & medium but being more on the fine side. You can get some flex out of it as well.
    Pen is made by Ratnamson

Also, while that is not my picture it is the actual pen I got. Pic was taken by Aaron Zeller of http://www.zellerwritingcompany.com who just got these pens in.

That pen makes my heart go pitter-patter! And your repair job is impressive. How did you fix the chip in the edge of the section? Did you trim it down? If so, what did you use?
