I recently bought two pens, but the most recent pen to arrive is the Karas Kustoms Fountain K Gray with a titanium nib, and I am IN LOVE https://www.peninvestigations.com/ho...oms-fountain-k

A TWSBI AL in Rose with a broad nib. I find the section more slippery than I would like, and I don't love transparent caps, but otherwise I like the pen quite a bit.
“What, gloss came instead of matte? “
Precisely.

Latest? A Franklin Christoph Model 02 'Intrinsic' in solid cinnamaroon. Was a slight problem with the cap which they are sorting out, so it will be a couple of weeks before I can show pictures. Ordered it with a second Nagahara fine CI nib. Plus I ordered a music nib which I have installed on one of my other custom pens - it's a lot of fun to use, though currently being tested with a cartridge's worth of Waterman black ink. Colours to go later!
The other pen I am waiting on is an oversize Ambassador in a woodgrain material and sporting a (supposedly) flexy #3 nib. Bit expensive for me, but thought I'd take a risk.
I've actually been curious about that, specifically. Is the section of ALR significantly less slippery? And, if you don't mind my asking, why isn't it good for long writing sessions -- the section, the weight, or something else? I'm debating between getting an ECO in Transparent Blue or 580 ALR in Navy. I know I love the ECOs, but I prefer the color of the ALR.
If these things are connected and you're trying to get a matte black Safari, it's not technically "black". Yes it is, of course, but as far as Lamy's concerned it's Umbra, also sometimes referred to as Charcoal. You might have better luck looking for that. Certainly specifying the Safari 017 should get it, assuming you find a vendor who can read labels!
In the words of Paul Simon, you can call me Al.
The ribbed is certainly a lot less slippery. I tend to grasp my pens tighter than most, so I find my finger and thumb a little indented. In terms of long term writing, I find the 580 ALR a bit tiring. Not sure if it is the balancing (I tend to cap my pens as I’ve crushed / lost several caps accidentally) or just the design. It also could be the diameter. It is better than an Eco, however, as I prefer a little more freedom in my grip.
I have a 700 Vac and it seems to be a better long-term writer, if you’re into that type of filling system. It does hold an incredible amount of ink.
My latest was an Eberhard Faber Permapoint. Love it.
A Kaweco sport with italic nib from Fountain Pen Hospital. It was such a great experience I am trying to figure out the exact best place to post about it. And the pen is nice, too.
