Oh. and I have a baby Balance too. Found it in an antique store, and talked the guy down to $10 because "it didn't work." Just needed a new sac. Has a very nice stub nib.

The thread's been quiet lately and I'm sorry I haven't popped in. I've got quite a few so they are going to be out of order over the days, but I'll add some content.
This pen is actually from a local maker (moved here last year) Zach of Skogsy Pens. I saw him post it on his IG feed and I said "it looks just like a well-poured Arnold Palmer!" When I went to the SF Pen Show 2 weeks ago I made a beeline to his table and picked it up. I should mention that this pen sports a very nice matte finish; I have 3-4 pens with matte finishes, and when done right, it enhances not just the look but a velvety-smooth feel in your hand.
He asked if I wanted the Broad nib that was in the pen or move to something else, and I thought "no, I haven't had a B ground in a while". Later that morning I sat in front of Matthew Chen (@pactagon) and we decided to do a soft architect (not super sharp on the vertical) and it turned out really nice (no surprise there). So here's the pen with the signature drink, nib shot and writing sample, and Matt working on the pen at the show (to Matt's right is the great Mike Masuyama, who later did a different pen for me).

Looks nice and chunky. I have a Pen 7 on the way (I hope) but lost in the postal system.

It's a very refreshing drink. Palmer reportedly wandered into the clubhouse after a round of golf and asked for a glass with half lemonade, half iced tea. He had it often after that, and they just started calling it by his name. Most places in the States will know the drink if you ask for one.

It's not as thickly as my Cholla 14 in Micarta, just a nice size pen. Good luck with the USPS - FWIW, I was tracking two packages, one supposed to arrive yesterday, the other tomorrow. According to tracking, the late one was in Florida (from Arkansas?) and still shows that, but both pens arrived today! Tracking isn't always accurate.

Hello, my first post in fpgeeks.com
This is my first Montblanc purchase in 20 years.
Quite heavy for such a tiny everyday writer.

It all depends on what "acquisition" means. Today, I acquired a pen that's been knocking around here for a decade or two. It's a Conklin 50 crescent-filler. (I call these my "steampunk" pens, with their archaic crescent-filler mechanism.) It arrived on my desk because the 50 that I usually reach for was gushing ink, and I had to replace its aging sac. Then I spotted this pen in the shadows. I plucked it from its hiding place, and having doubts about its sac, I carefully removed the section and discovered the sac was sound. I filled it with Randall blue-black and commenced writing a letter to a pen friend (and fellow Geek) across the seas. I had to get used to the nib, but once I refrained from using my usual heavy hand, it turned out to be a very nice writer.
It sports a big extra-fine nib that's flexible. With a light hand it writes a very fine line. So...that's my newly acquired pen...at a decent price.
