I just got my first Parker 51 yesterday. No pictures yet. Too busy playing with it.

I finally saved up enough to splurge on a Platinum Riviere from my local Daiso!

I know the blotter is scratched and it shows the wear and all, but for 2 DKK, I can live with it. That's 35 US cents.

Two of my Goal Pens arrived this week: a black/gold Sailor 1911 M, with the fabled Zoom nib, and a black/rhodium Sapporo with XF nib. Both write beautifully OOB, no flushing whatever, which is how I test new pens.

(also arrived, two Goal Inks: old-style-bottle MB Black and new MB Toffee brown).
My other pen is a Montblanc.

And my other blog is a tumblr!

It's been a while since I bought anything, but the little priority mail box showed up today with something I couldn't pass up. A Sheaffer's Cadet with the shorthand nib.

The bit that sealed the deal for me was this:

New No.2: “Six of one, half a dozen of another.”

Waterman 354 in NOS condition with sticker that reads, 354, Med Flex, $3.50. I also received my Bamboo pen from Drgoretex which is now known as the "Fires of Mustafar Bamboo Pen".

KI, the Bamboo pen from Drgoretex aka "The Fires of Mustafar Bamboo Pen" is absolutely gorgeous and a great name too.
That substublimated nib on it looks very spiffy, can't wait to see how it performs.

The Waterman seems pretty good for a $3.50 pen. It appears nice in the photo is it a streaky marbly look or is it polished metal ?

About the Waterman 354 - I'm curious about how the lever looks & the top of the cap. From the pics above, the pen resembles my Stalwart. Will have to check the details when I get home.

Yes, as FPK, marbled grey streaky celluloid. I think it will be the ice of Hoth pen.

I need to get pictures but the top of the cap is a metal "jewel" sort of dome looking thing. The lever box looks like the one on my Taperite.

I'm not altogether sure. What I ordered was a Platignum Studio No.4 and what arrived appeared to be another No.5, but all was not quite as it seemed. A side by side review might be forthcoming sometime soon as both pens are impressive at the entry level price.

A Montblanc Classic from the late 1970s (or 1980?) that took more than two weeks to arrive in the mail, but it's worth the wait.

A late birthday gift FP is also arriving tomorrow. I haven't been told what it is yet. Can't wait to find out.

'tis a beautiful day today in Cork. Popped along to an estate auction with a friend on my lunch break. I was lucky enough to purchase a P51 FP/BP/MP set (Maroon, Gold cap) for 35 Euro and a tiny Swan self-filler for 20 Euro. All are fully operational. I can't quite determine if the P51 set truly is a 'set' or merely a collection but they were displayed in what looked like a presentation box. There really isn't much of a market for fine writing instruments auction-wise outside of the capital but even so the prices are a steal. I'll be popping along to collect them tomorrow evening and I shall scrutinise them further.

Of course I left slightly blue, the Parker Debutante Vacuumatic I wanted in the first place was sold before I arrived.

That bamboo of yours, KrazyIvan - that's definitely a deeply droolworthy pen! Congrats on the pen, it looks absolutely awesome!
And your Waterman's looks gorgeous, cool stuff!

Today's pen haul from my regular pen pusher in Copenhagen:

    DSC_3540.JPG

    Left to right:
Unknown black pen, no text anywhere.
    Penol Skolepen (school pen).
    Black Penol Ambassador Special 1145.
    Bordeaux Liberty Kollegiepen (college pen).
    Blue Original Liberty AJ.
    Black/steel Liberty.
    Pink Hoover 884.
    Bordeaux Hoover 783.
    Black Boy.
    Green Perfecto.
    Blue unknown pen, no text.
    Blue/steel Penol.
    Green/Gold Sheaffer.
    Black/Gold Parker 61.
    Red/gold Parker 17.
    Black/gold Parker 51.
    Orange/black/gold Penol pencil.
    Orange/black/silver unknown pencil.
    Bordeaux/gold Big Ben 30 pencil.
    Top: Red/white/black dip pen.

I also got a couple of funny little old metal boxes:

    DSC_3533.JPG

    Top: Pelikan ink eraser box.
Bottom: Danish-made dip pen nib box, from a Copenhagen shop, once located at Købmagergade 50, now closed.
I showed the boxes to my father, he does remember the shop from when he was young.
The text "Staalpenne" means steel pens, and there's 3-4 dip pen nibs in the box.
