Default Desk pen? Portable pen? Or maybe model with... docking station?

What do you think about such a variant?

This is the prototype of the largest series of pens I have made so far. A total of 116 were made, and their production has been (for me) quite thoroughly documented, so stay tuned.

NOTE: the prototype was made from production waste and at an accelerated rate. Like your grandmother's 'so-so quick' cookies. It was just about presenting a concept to the client.

Wow! This is the first time I saw the pen like this. It looks classic and pretty.

I like the overall concept but the blue and brown wouldn't be for me and nor would the wood join where cap meets barrel. If that join absolutely has to be there then the wood pattern either side of it would need to match or it looks a bit odd.

First thing I thought was that it looked like a cigar band (but on the wrong end of a cigar). You might explore that motif.

While the design goal of multifunction is laudable, there is one absolute certainty in the fountain pen world. You cannot please everyone. As the philosopher Ricky Nelson said about creating art: "You can't please everyone, so you got to please yourself."

For me, I don't want a cap on a desk pen. It should sit in its holder and be available instantly. If I have to take a cap off, why do I need a pen stand? I also find an artful roll stop far more functional and less intrusive than another item on my desk. As for the form, personal taste finds cigars distasteful and unsightly so this isn't for me in any way. Also, the grip section seems to say you were just kidding about wood to begin with.

Sorry to seem critical, but I hope you'll take the comments constructively. Art is one mean mutha!!!

I agree with you but as I mentioned it is only quick prototype form productions waste pieces. Final product look like in the picture below.

heh don't worry about critical coment I post it because I would like to hear your honest opinion. Furthermore, I agree with you with many things, but... my client wanted it this way so I've made it that way. He liked the concept so much that order 116 of this pens
