I'll be certain to save it for you.

I don't find particular interest in sets, and only have pulled in a few in my usual pen areas, but this one is so much "all of one cloth", with everything really designed to be together. The only others that are similar are the sets made by Carters and then also co-branded with Moore and (I think) another maker or two. Very small pens and pencils that came in very cool Bakelite (or maybe celluloid?) cases. I wish I had a good photo but I don't. If I get a moment I'll scan in one from an article that appeared recently. Lovely little items from another era.

Anyway, here's a sweet little pastel Estie duo with an original case (which Esterbrook referred to as a "Petite-Pak") that I saw pop up on eBay yesterday morning, costing me the princely sum of $14.99 plus nominal shipping. I would have been a fool to scroll past that. (photos from eBay listing)

That is a beautiful set. I am exceedingly jealous

Lovely find Jon , And a lucky one too.
Yes, the luck will never strike if you are just scrolling past without you looking for it.

    I got two pens.
A Swan MABIE TODD 'Swan Pen' Rolled Gold FOUNTAIN PEN with a broad italic
Waterman's Ideal 42 safety pen with an Italic broad nib again.
Both pens need repair and admit into the FOUNTAIN PEN HOSPITAL . But both are promising second lives

Good luck with the restorations. Those look to be a couple of sweet nibs.

    Enjoy!

I love my 3776 pens, so expected this one, being pricier and Platinum’s “flagship” pen, to be remarkable. It’s a little longer, a little heavier, looks a little more elegant as far as the finishes go. I’ve only tried it with the one Diamine Ink so far, and I got it for much less than most of the US retailers sell it for….but will need to spend a little more time with it to decide if I really love it. I think I like the nib on the 3776 more, it seems a little smoother.

One thing is for sure, it’s time to get some nibs with a little more character.

A second Pelikan 805 Stresemann with medium nib. Picked it up in trade at the Raleigh Pen Show two weeks ago. Sorry for the gigantic images. Not sure what I did.

It needs some work but for the price, it was a bargain. Eberhard Faber Permapoint.

Lovely pen, Jon, and good value!

I can understand the temptation to break the resolve for Not One More Pen.

I've got a 1928 Conklin Endura Lapis with matching pencil. Also restored a Conklin Glider, brown stripe c. 1940. Since I like large pens, this one tempted me. It wasn't expensive. Plus, I've never used a stub nib.

Ebony and gunmetal finish. It's hefty. Metal barrel under the wood. Precise thread on the cap. It writes fairly well, although I'm not yet comfortable with the stub. Cons: it leaks rather a lot when capped and on its side. It also went dry rather quickly, likely owing to the constant leak.
