It was a good pen day today, although lesson learned (now twice) to review the measurements of any pen storage system before purchasing. Most of my pens won't fit- especially not the new one.

    Two pens with FPG links!

    1) A Leonardo Momento Zero fitted with a vintage nib. I have three Momento Zeros and love them except that the standard steel nibs are a little boring. This is very nice. I got it from Redeem Pens, which is run by penwash.

    2) My first Waterman Carene, bought from Zhivago.

    Thanks to you both!

A couple of beauties. I think you will like the Carene. I have two. The 18k nibs are smooth and lovely to look at.

    Cheers.

Nothing anywhere near as nice as those - and I did look long and hard at Penwash's Leonardo, but as usual am too slow to make a decision - my latest pen is an exceedingly modest 2nd tier Esterbrook J (transitional) in brown with a NOS 9668 (which will be replaced with one of my Osmiroid nibs most likely).

One of those short-tined calligraphy nibs? I have some of my family's Esties and some Osmiroid nibs but somehow never thought to try this!

Yes! Those short tined nibs. They are an exact fit in an Estie section. It's the Osmiroid 65 set I think, the other set doesn't fit.

The latest arrival is a Pelikan M205 Duo in transparent green with matching highlighter ink. (BB of course)

Earlier this week I picked up a Parker 51 with 1/10 12k gold filled cap. It's enroute.

    Wow...Congratulations!!
I plan to get one of those in 2 years for my next work anniversary (15 years) if they are still available.

Congratulations on a fine acquisition. You are a beautiful writer. You make me want to practice more. It's not as if I don't have time in these days of Covid-19.

FPR Jaipur V2 ultraflex. The poor thing took an age to get here (6+ weeks for express shipping) and had a little side trip to Denmark, but finally turned up in all it's screaming orange glory. Now filled with Diamine Honey Burst (not really orange, but I wanted to use it) and playing very nicely so far. I may need to do a bit of work on the feed, but overall I'm happy

Just like Ptero, I too have gotten a hold of Montblanc 149 Calligraphy pen. I still have to learn how to use it properly and I think it will have to go back to Montblanc for a tune up, as it doesn't write well at the moment. This is my first fountain pen purchase in over two years. I am enjoying it quite a bit, it's a very soft nib, I hope Montblanc will be able to fix it so it writes perfectly. We will see.

Cool Re: What is your latest pen acquisition?

Took a gamble on purchasing this collection today.
I can make out what might possibly be a Parker 51 and a dark green moderne in the front of picture.
Cannot seem to make out the remaining pens.
    Hoping for a lucky dip

I took a flyer on a pen I had heard about, the Narwhal Schuylkill. A thread on FPN tipped me off to a limited edition in a dark red ebonite that had been made up for Dromgooles and I decided to chance it.

Based on positive reviews, having an affinity for dark ebonites, and wanting to check out a promising, modest-cost piston filler. I ordered one late last Thursday evening. It just arrived now, which is remarkable service. Put a standard first ink in it and this is a very, very nice pen. The cap is too long/heavy for comfortable posting but it can be done. The ebonite gives it just a bit of heft and between that and a generous barrel length, it is comfortable un-posted. The barrel threads are essentially unnoticeable, which along with the generous-length section makes for comfortable writing. The nib is a well-done steel M and wrote totally smooth out of the box. The pen also has a well-made ink window.

With the limited edition packaging of the wooden box and leather case, this is an excellent purchase ($80 total), and worth consideration. They have this same basic pen in various colorful acrylics, minus box/case, for $40-55. Here's a quick phone-cam shot of the entire package as received:

Very nice, Jon. That looks like a very good deal at 80 bucks. Where is it made?

I honestly have no idea. Everything would point to New England (because of the reference to the Schuykill River) but it is something I want to track down. No place of manufacture or other company data on the brief instruction/warranty card. I'm going to find out.

Annnnnd.......... Here they are: Narwhal Pens. Note that there is some other place with a similar name that sells a bunch of basic stationery products which is why it took me a while to track this down. They also have a Facebook page if you want to look there.
