Just received this Majohn P139 with #8 nib. I'm impressed with the look and feel of the pen. It's quite well made and beautiful. The nib is medium, but writes like a fine point. I inked it with Akkerman SBRE Brown ink - it's a nice writer with a good flow. Amazing quality for the price.

The ballpoint is a K400, not k800, but in my opinion works better this way.

A great find, Rob. Good to have the pen, of course, but it is the box that is the real eye-catcher!

Good to know Deb. I'm posting less too but I read genuine threads and posts. I've very recently started reading and posting on posts on r/fountainpens too. It's a relief to get to a spamless site that has moderators.

Yep…there are thems out there that sell stuff waaaaaay over the realistic price !!!! There’s a seller that wants like $900 for an empty Bonzo ink bottle … plus some outrageous US postage …plus the accursed GSP , that’s just *#@ ridiculous.

My superpower is waiting until what I’m after comes up at a much cheaper price , and it usually works.

Also yeah , I have a 2048 in one Esterbrook, and it’s written up as 'Flexible Fine' but the only way to get ANY flex out of it is to lean on it so hard that writing becomes impossible. 🤣 similar in a way to FPR nibs calling themselves flex…when they are just so not flexy….
I doubt it very much considering that they are not at the exact same spot nor are they exactly straight and under a loupe the lines have a 'tear' to the surface rather than what appear to be cut.

Came across another one of these nibs !!! This one , a French warranted one .
