How Red Is The Royal Red Studio?

I've been eyeing the Royal Red Studio, but I have not bought it yet because I don't know if it's a true red. The Goulet site has noted that it's more of an orange than red. I'm surprised that I have not seen many reviews on this model. My ideal red is the Ruby Red Al-star Lamy came out with a few years ago, and the red Pilot Decimo. Deep, dark shiny color.

I saw it yesterday under dreadful indoor light. With that caveat, it definitely looked orange-red to me. Not at all like the Ruby Red Al-Star.

That is a pretty good description of the colour . It is a reddish orange like Jaffas used to be.

I would describe mine as more of a metallic burnt orange and I love the look of it. The Goulet site does capture it about as well as I've ever seen in pictures.

Here are two photos showing my Royal Red Studio next to a red metal Pilot Falcon. The Falcon is a deep red while the Studio is a rusty coppery orange. You can see a big difference in the two colors, especially when they are side-by-side.

I would call it a bright, true red. I didn't think it was particularly orange when I saw it. Or in the pics... I like it, I want one, but I can't affford it at the moment. It may be gone by the time I can

I love the color, but I do have a thing for orange pens. Diamine Ancient Copper is a nice match for the royal "red" Studio.
