The last movie I watched was Iception, but there's nothing to say about it, since everyone has already seen it and knows what it's about.

Judgements of Mountbatten and his career differ considerably. Leaving that aside, his boat was bombed on 27 August 1979, off Mullaghmore, which is in County Sligo, in the Republic rather than northern Ireland.

There was quite a lot of anger directed at Mountbatten over the way he handled the partition of Pakistan, which ended in a bloodbath.

    https://dailytimes.com.pk/457322/mou...ian-partition/

And then there was Bloody Sunday and the Troubles in Northern Ireland.

Some interesting history on Mountbatten's Irish estate.

Just watched The Outfit, a crime drama with Mark Rylance, outstanding as usual.

The plot was rather contrived, but it worked.

Saw two Israeli movies, as part of the Montreal Israeli film festival. Short, tight, to the point with excellent acting.

The first was Dinner. about a couple of Russian Emigrés trying to integrate in the Israeli society....
I managed to find a trailer on .

The second, is More that I deserve, about a 13 year old Ukrainian boy who wants to have his bar mitzvah like the other boys, despite the objections of his secular mother.

"The Ex-Mrs. Bradford", very similar to "The Thin Man" but not quite as good.

Another French movie. This time, a 1934 movie with Buster Keaton in two roles- a gentle guy and a murderer. It's called "Le roi des champs elysees" and it was surprisingly quite good given the year and origin.

This is my favorite Buster talkie. He's magnificent in the dual roles, but his voice was dubbed except for a line or two they forgot: 'Ouvrir la porte!' And one other I keep trying to catch.

The Accountant starring Ben Affleck. Unusual thriller with a high body count and a sneaky twist at the end.

I assume this doesn't mean that you watched 1949's "Whisky Galore!" with a friend called Eddie Izzard. I saw that one, and it was really good.
