No Place on Earth, a documentary with dramatic re-enacted scenes (very well done), about a spelunker who finds traces of people in a cave on western Ukraine and searches for their story. He locates the survivors of Jewish families who took refuge from the Nazis, remaining underground for almost two years.

    Saw two French films,
First the Brechtian/cerebral, Phantom Valley (1987), (La vallée fantôme)

and the more creative, unusual, 1950 Souvenirs perdus (Lost Souvenirs), 4 shorts films in one. Lloyd you might like than one.

    Saw

It was alright. Well done for an extreme low budget indie movie.
    But had some continuity flaws.

Watched Annie Hall again, a masterpiece.
They don't make movies like that anymore, do they?

Another fantastic French movie, 1931's "Le Chienne". It's the same story as "Scarlet Street" (the last movie I watched), but it was released years before and didn't need to adhere to the Hayes code.

We liked it. I saw Marceau perform many years ago— genius— but had no idea he was a hero of the French resistance.

The Worst Person in the World, a bittersweet romantic comedy from Norway.

I didn't like it at first, but it grew on me. Renate Reinsve got a Best Actress award at Cannes.
