    Default Jasper Morrison's favourite Lamy?

The interview with Jasper Morrison in the first issue of Lamy specs contains the following exchange (emphasis mine):

Q: Do you have a favourite in the Lamy range?
A: As a long-term Lamy fan (I got my first Lamy when I was fourteen), I have good memories of some of the early designs. My absolute favourite was probably a transparent fountain pen with a screw fill mechanism in transparent orange, with some other internal parts in grey, I think. It’s extremely technical appearance was beautiful and it uniquely embodied my idea at the time of what a pen should be.

Any idea which earlier Lamy he's talking about?

Sounds like a Lamy 99 demonstrator, but the 99 had a lime green not orange piston. There's one on https://www.penboard.de/shop/hlist/LA/MBVI/0

Thanks! That's more or less what I imagined from the description, though the gold trim undercuts the 'extremely technical appearance' for me. Perhaps a silver trim/orange piston variant existed?

Someone over on FPN suggested a Lamy Vista with a Z24 converter, which is also plausible if a little disappointing. (I forget that the Safari/Vista counts as an old design now.)

Mystery solved, I think. Someone over on FPN suggested a Lamy 68 demonstrator.

Wow! that's a marvellous pen! I can see how Jasper Morrison would have fallen in love with it.

Demonstrators look cool. Until someone puts ink in them.

I wish this pen would remain hidden and forgotten. It is my grail pen...
