Hello everyone.. a Pakistani expat in saudi Arabia

Greetings.. I'm a working as a consultant restorative dentist in saudi Arabia. I have been using fountain pens for past 30 years ( since my school days). For last three years i have been addicted to a level of bankruptcy . I even have a fountain pen of my 5th grade days( 1989) with me. I'm so happy to find all of you, who share this wonderful passion. Hope to learn alot from you all.

I spent a few years at school in Karachi during the early 80s. I remember the pens that we would use. Chinese Wing Sung pens, that I now realise were Sheaffer inspired, Eagle basic fountain pens.

It was the first time I saw a Parker 51, and I thought that the hooded nib was actually supposed to stick out, but that it had been dropped and the whole assembly pushed up. Ah, innocent days

I was in Karachi (Air force base in faisal) as well in late 80's and then in 93. I have roamed all across Pakistan as father was in air force.
I remember it was kind of self made rule for the majority of students to use fine pens, those parker 51 copies i.e hero hooded nib pens for writing English and broader dollar and eagle pens for writing urdu. I still have the hero pen i think from 1987 which i used then but that's not the hooded one. Good times
