Only for the lovers of Chinese pens...
Supremely strange story. I found it kinda hilarious until I read the man has struggled with mental illness.
I think so long as we don't start seeing threads asking "which fountain pen is best for self defence", like you do with a range of other civilised tools such as walking sticks, pocket knives, flashlights, and keyrings, we should be fine. Laughably, "tactical pens" are actually a thing, so I'm not entirely surprised.
What appears to be footage of the incident, including a shot of the 'weapon' at the end:
Perhaps if this had happened in Chicago on a slow news day it may have raised a few eyebrows for an hour or two. However, given the waves of evil now crashing upon us daily in our world, this event would have been washed away like a strand of seaweed in the churning surf.
Likely 'Kevin' will want to avoid the hospitality of the airline in future...
He was using the wrong tool for the job. Everyone knows that it's ballpoints that you have to watch out for.
