Another unexpected turn of events, my husband has decided to ditch digital and start sketching in ink too, he requested I order him exactly the pen and custom nib I have because he likes it so much Pity he's much better at sketching than me doh doh doh 🤣

My son in law has not entered this wonderful world of pens. I’ve given him a number of pens to build his interest. He does use them all the time! The rest of the family still think my interest is a curiosity.

Well, my friend definitely has taken a more interest in writing ever since I started writing with a fountain pen. He is still on the fence on whether he should buy one or not. I hope he comes around soon.

My wife likes fountain pens but lets them dry out before she uses them. It's also up to me to fill and clean them...

Which is entirely as it should be. I wish I could get my husband trained.

No my family have not become fountain pen enthusiasts. My son picked out a Chatterly Luxury pen in DC at a pen show and stopped at one pen. “All I need is one Dad.”

My SO is not interested in them but my son enjoys using a few Safaris I sent to him for a birthday. My grandfather who passed away in 1965 loved fountain pens. I was always intrigued by the pens on his desk.

I gave my wife a Lamy Safari after a trip to Heidelberg. She loved the pen for a while, but stopped using it after it would dry out, while uncapped, during meetings. She thinks my infatuation with pens is a bit ridiculous.

She was the person who got me into high quality paper.

My wife does use hers, and it’s a pleasure to fill and clean for her.

The other thing to worry about is when you get a new pen and they like it and want to keep it. It's happen a couple of times for me. I bought her a purple pilot metro roller ball with a G2 purple refill and me the matching fountain pen. She kept them both. She also took my TWSBI Eco with 1.1 nib and wanted to take my Lamy Racing Green Studio. When I wanted to buy a Franklin-Christoph I actually did not chose the purple one thinking she would take it, but in that case I should not have worried she thought the pen was bigger then she liked.

Not that I minded giving her those pens. I like sharing the hobby and it was not like she wanted one of my Montblanc 146's. In the case of the Studio she actually asked about buying her own. She really liked the nib. To avoid over spending we each have an allowance to spend as we want. I might end up giving her the pen.
