    Default Ink Recommendation

Hi everyone. I just started out with Fountain Pens. The only two pens I have are a Pilot Kakuno and Metropolitan. I started out with pilot basic inks that they sold for $5/bottle. However, they are all basic inks so I am somewhat bored of them. Just want to ask if anyone have suggestion for inks. I hear good things about Pilot Iroshizuku and Sailor's.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but from your other posts I gather you maybe in Japan? If yes, then I definitely recommend Sailor inks. Heck, I recommend them even if you’re not in Japan :-) I have a LOT of Sailor inks. Best brand on the market for me.

There are infinite Sailor-made inks, including hundreds of shop exclusives, but you can’t go wrong by trying their standard Four Seasons line. Every colour is good, I love them all, but for starters, Tokiwa-Matsu is one of my favourite green inks, Do-You is a mysterious brown-black & very lubricating & smooth, Yama-Dori is a gorgeous peacock teal/turquoise, with lovely sheen.

If you are after a good clear blue, standard Sailor Blue is wonderful.

Yes, if you are in Japan I would definitely go to that brand and try them. Don't forget the specialty shops. They have some gorgeous ink. I love all of my Sailor ink, but it is not the only brand I buy.
