Default Parker 88 Unknown logo on pen lid??

Hey all, I've recently obtained this lovely Parker 88 fountain pen in Matte blue. One thing I'm currently perplexed by is what's that logo on the pen lid? Never seen it before? Is this a Parker thing? Or could be a have been a company pen? Any help would be appriecated.

Unless there is a picture I'm not seeing; I'm going with a husky in a blizzard.

I'm going to go with a company logo that is not related to Parker.

My bad. Fixed now! Thanks I was confident it wasn't Parker related. Looks like a plane to me.

I bet this is a company pen. Probably an airline.

I saw one (not an 88) on the Bay recently with the Air France Concord logo on the clip.

In the 1980s some airlines gave fountain pens as gifts to first class passengers. I have a Sheaffer with the Malaysian Airlines logo on. I don't recognize the logo, but it may well have been one of those.

The cap end logo is Lufthansa airlines from the late 1980's

Their current logo has changed to a bird in flight.

Not uncommon for even the major players to logo-ize their products for promotional or service (as in awards) needs. Beyond the sales, it could make the brand attractive to companies and customers they might not otherwise reach. Here's a Sheaffer salesman's set, showing Targa pens with various corporate logos affixed as examples:

    "When Men differ in Opinion, both Sides ought equally to have the Advantage of being heard by the Publick;
and that when Truth and Error have fair Play, the former is always an overmatch for the latter."

I have to disagree, since 1953 Lufthansa has a bird in flight as a logo.

    Wahl,

Sir, read your comment with interest.

Perhaps a pre 1990 image of one of their Parker promotional pen would explain / justify your comment

Lufthansa has had a crane forever.

Never seen that logo before in an airplane, could it be some sort of travel agency?

Or maybe one of the subsidiaries of Lufthansa (Cityline, Condor, Thomas Cook, Eurowings) that used the orange color but a different logo at that time?

    Hello again,

    Wahl, Sir

I was rather expecting an image of a post 1987 Parker pen cap displaying the ' bird in flight '

My knowledge has taken me about 22 years of researching rare Parker pens and have many contacts from the ex staff Parker Newhaven post 1985

The logo is as I have mentioned.

I am fine, if you disagree with me.

This post is hardly really that important in the scheme of things

I looked everywhere I could think of and the only information I could find out about a Lufthansa logo is that it has always been a bird that has recently been slightly updated so that it's more modern. I think we're on safe ground to say that the image in the OP was not specifically produced as a Lufthansa logo.

I am intrigued by this. Since you are the expert in this field and you know from your extensive research that Parker produced this plane logo for Lufthansa please can you direct us to an image of a Parker pen that was produced for Lufthansa that shows this plane as their logo? The one that the OP shows doesn't mention that Parker produced it for Lufthansa and it looks generic. Or are you suggesting that all of the Parker pens produced for airlines have generic plane images like this?
