Default I've never found a Parker 51 writing this thin

I have found, restored and used a lot of Parker 51's. Most of them writes like an F or M nibs. I do have one factory stub that was given to me as gift that I treasure.

This particular Teal Blue Vacumatic, however, writes super thin. I'm talking about Japanese EF thin.

Do you have Parker 51's with XF nib? Post a writing sample so we can compare it.

I have a 3rd quarter 1942 Cedar Blue 51 Vac, with a sterling silver cap and an 14k extra fine nib. It writes a very fine line but it isn’t inked up so I can’t post a writing sample at the mo.

Thank you, sir! It's the "Raised Band" cap, which is rated "Less Common" by Parker51.com caps gallery.

Thank you. Yes it is a beautiful pen, in amazing condition. The sterling cap is practically unmarked, which is unusual, due to the soft metal & thin rhodium plating. And I still find it hard to believe it’s a Vac; the blind cap to barrel fit is perfect. It’s almost completely invisible.

    It’s definitely a keeper.

Gorgeous 51's in two of my favorite colors! I do love those earlier blue diamond clips, too.

A comparison between my 1st qtr 1948 51 Demi Vacumatic with what I believe is an ef, inked with Diamine Blue Black, a Esterbrook J with 9550 inked with KWZI Pine Green and a different J with different 9550 dipped with Diamine Blue Black.

The guy I bought the 51 from called the nib an F. He is the one that had it apart and restored it.
