Default Further to my ink review for Pelikan Edelstein Olivine What do you think of this?

Before I posted my ink review of Pelikan Edelstein Olivine - Ink of the year 2018, I was playing around with 2 images, and had to choose which one to go with on the review page.

However, I took a long time (days) over editing this in Photoshop, because I'm not very good at knowing how most of it's features work. The main reason I didn't go with this image was because I didn't think the ink colour matched the Olivine well enough. I also had to make the background paper more blue on the other image.

I would be interested to know which of the 2 images you like better, so I posted this for you to choose.

I prefer the picture you used with the review. It's easier for my eyes to focus on the ink and pens. The pens and caps get a bit lost on this background.

Cliff's Notes: This one is too busy. You chose wisely for the review thread.

I agree, on the picture you used, the items were the focus of attention. With this image, the background draws your gaze too much, and you focus on the beads instead of the inks and stuff.

Edit: the first one frames them, the second one drowns them

I like the original picture. In the second picture I feel like there isn't enough contrast to set off the subject.

Definitely the original. This background works to camouflage the subject.

    Another vote for the original.

The second image is too busy as a background but might have been a useful colour reference further down the review near the ink swatches.

I would have severely cropped the image so that there wasn't a large border of olivine, but many thanks to you all. You've saved me more time and effort with it and I've scrapped the whole idea.
