Default Any thoughts on the new M815

Any thoughts on the new M815? It reminds me of the material from the Ductus and looks like it will be pretty heavy due to the brass/plastic barrel.

Can see the appeal, will probably be popular with businesspeople.

Looks like an inferior version of Stresemann to me.

Why does the M815 look inferior to you? Some people prefer metal pens over plastic ones. I do not, but some do.

Because I find this design incredibly ugly; I’m talking about the sharp cut off between the barrel and the ink window. Not only that, the ink window is tiny compared to the entire barrel of a standard Pelikan striped version. I love Pelikans the most, but they do tiny ink window design on many otherwise beautiful models, which is simply a deal breaker to me.

I quite like the look of it. Shame it's priced about 25x more than I'd pay for it

right now... I will stick to my stressman 805. I like the 815 but the price is quite a deal breaker... esp since it looks so close to the stressman cept for the weight and ink window.

I don't think it has a brass barrel. I read somewhere the metal stripes are in the binde not the barrel.

And I was wrong. "The Pelikan M815 features black and palladium plated brass stripes on the brass barrel. "

There seems to be competing descriptions. We will have to wait for the weight.

Yep, it is not much more than regular Pelikan prices. Montblanc is still much more for just a standard line pen.

Wuddus, while Pelikans are pricy, they are some of my favorite pens.

I saw them listed at around 750EUR, which is pretty much the same as, for example, the new Little Prince limited edition Le Grande. 550 isn’t that bad, I guess, but I still prefer Stresemann looks over this one.
