    Default Conid Prices

Well, I'm beginning to get the itch to buy my third Conid pen. But oh my... the prices really went up.

Now it's going to take me longer to save for it.

From what I saw, only the prices of nibs is increased. Prices of Pens are same. Kingsize demo still costs Ä588

That's my strategy as well. CAISO is a wonderful concept that has proved to be quite a challenge for the superb engineering skills of the people at Conid.

My Regular Streamline was 388. Now they're 469.

Dave - maybe you'll get lucky and the Dollar will continue advancing against the Euro. I bought my Flat top regular bulkfiller in late October of 2016 when the exchange rate was very favorable for U.S. buyers - roughly $1.06 per Euro, as I recall.

Out of curiosity, what Conid models do you own?

Oops, I forgot to respond to this.

Yes, I do hope for the $$ to advance against the euro. In fact I'm waiting for that.

The models I have are the Minimalistica w/clear barrel-blk cap & the Streamline w/clear barrel-blk cap. I also have numerous nib combos-- 14, 18 kt fines, broad & stubs, and steel fine, titanium stub.

Think of all those pleasurable hours writing with a Conid that you'll be sacrificing by waiting for just a few dollars.

i'd be tempted by a Conid, if the nibs were made in-house.

That's a nice thought, but my Conid with Bock steel M nib turns out to be one of my very best writers out of many many modern and vintage pens with all types of nibs, mostly 14k and 18k. Conid tunes nibs before they ship. I suspect that Conid's extremely high quality standards carry over to the nibs.

That is exactly my experience. I was a gold nib 'snob' but my CONID steel nib tuned by Johann at the LWES pen show when I bought my regular bulkfiller is a spectacular writer.

I did own a Conid kingsize monarch, exclusive to fontoplumo with a titanium F nib. It was one of the smoothest F nib I had ever used. But I didn't like that pencil like feedback of the nib material and the tendency of orange ebonite to absorb ink, so I let it go. My fascination with filling systems won't last more than 6 months, so unless they make a pen with some stunning material, I'll stay away.

Conid is one of those pens that everyone raves about.

But I have no itch for it whatsoever. Strange.

I do realize that Conid's may not be for everybody. But for me they're everything I need in a pen. I can swap nibs with ease, which means I can pick up a #6 nib that suits my fancy. For example, right now my Streamline has an Edison 18kt 1.1 mm stub in it. You should see how it looks and of course, writes. Just wow! Plus, I can disassemble the entire pen for cleaning. They send you extra o-rings to replace old ones. The filling system makes it the easiest pen I've EVER cleaned out. No competition on that front. The pen is a dream IMHO.

Is that so? That's fine by me... more for the rest of us.

BTW, I did get my Conid... second hand at a very good price. Now I have three, and I'm VERY HAPPY!
