    Default Dry Visoconti Stub

I recently purchased a Visconti Rembrandt with a 1.5 mm stub and to my shock this nib has consistently run dry with several inks that I have tried. I have attempted to simply flush it out but to no avail as the pen will write magnificently then immediately dry out and require an uncomfortable amount of pressure. As a relative newbie to the above $150 pen market I am hesitant to attempt any sort of repair on my own. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions to solve my dry nib.

If you feel hesitant to repair the nib, I would send it in to a nibmeister: e.g. Mike-It-Work, Dan the nibsmith, etc. If you could make it to Dromgooles in Houston, they have someone that could easily fix your problem.

What are you flushing it with? Every Visconti I have purchased needed to be flushed with soapy water to carry away what I presume are oils from manufacture and assembly. On the midi's I've pulled the nib and feed and tossed them into a cup of soapy water to soak. On the maxi's I unscrew the nib unit, attach a pipette, and use it to flush the assembly in the same cup of soapy water. It's worked for me thus far.
