    Default Aurora pen identification

This is the only image I have. I was wondering if someone knew what it was and how much would potentially be a fair price for it (thinking of buying it).

I am far from being an expert on any brand of pen, but this looks like an Aurora 98 with the 'bark' finish. Prices on eBay range quite a bit depending on precise model.

    Edit: ninja'd by dneal!

You’re welcome. If you haven’t dealt with giardino... they’re reputable and ship fast. If you get the pen, don’t waste your money on the trik-trak converter. Use the Aurora cartridges or the Aurora piston converter.

Not sure what more you want to know that was not included in the description. It appears to be based on the Aurora Optima which is a fairly large piston filling fountain pen.

Aurora pens are made in Italy and that was one of their Special Editions. Most likely the name was due to the convergence of names; with the dreadnaught "Aurora" when in the port at St. Petersburg being the beginning of the Russian Revolution. It was available in the pick and also a light blue.

Aurora pens are manufactured in Turin, Italy. If St. Petersburg is its model name, it presumably was named after the Russian city as part of a "collector" series of pens, a method of selling more pens and at high prices.
