Thanks for coming back, I bought a silver Wyvern Safety a few years ago, was impressed with the pen, when dipped, however I did fill it up with water, when it arrived, to have it all flood out, being told that the cork washers had perished, the cost of restoration would be many times the cost of the pen. So that never got done. An early MB came up, Rouge et Noir, something like that anyway, £500 in an unrestored state. Have always wanted a working safety. I will find out if Noodler's are imported here

You can buy the Noodler's Boston Safety Pen on Ebay or Amazon probably. Watch out for the prices though. Some people are going overboard on what they charge for them. The regular price is 55 dollars.

Within this century, Stypen had the UP model in both ballpoint and fountain pen. The fountain pen is a safety model, and I have three of them. Two cost me $12.50 each, including shipping, the third was $13.50. The fountain pen, at least, is no longer made.



These are not bad pens for what they are, and it is still possible to find new old stock from time to time at close to the prices I paid. I don't actually recommend them over any other of the usual suspects for "good starter pen", though. They take short international cartridges only, although it's conceivable that a shorter than usual converter might fit. I'm certain that they would leak through the retracting mechanism if you tried to eyedropper them. But they're rather interesting.

I also heard that. Currently usin' a Stylochap {Modern French made} safety pen in mhr with Ag overlay..with a sweet sexie flexie Waterman nib.....

I would agree with that. I had one of those Stypen pens recently. Good little pen but I didn't really understand what it was about. A retractable nib cartridge pen doesn't really add up.

This pen started my interest in Safety's I bought one about 15 years ago, worked great then the flow stopped after about a month. Upgraded to an MB Boheme the short one, found it too small, so gave it to my wife, they then brought out a full size version, but that only accepted a single international cartridge, so did not see the point. I want a safety , they were very popular for a time, the system in MHO is sound, most other filling systems are still around, why not safety's
