    Default What Sheaffer model do I have?

    I believe its a Touch Down but not sure of the variation. I picked it up a a local garage sale for 5 bucks.

    Pretty sure it's a Touchdown TM (thin model) of the "Admiral" variant. More info can be found here.

    Thanks. I will soak it in a hot light soap water to clean it but I don't think I am going to rebuild it. Its just a nice pen.

    If it is just exterior cleaning, *don't* soak it, as you'll get liquid inside the barrel and might develop rust. You can always clean the outside with a similar liquid on a cloth and then maybe used a little Simichrome on the nib. As for soaking, though, I *would* consider suspending just the tip, up past the section, in a glass with water/dishsoap overnight. Then flush the tip under running water to get as much trapped ink out of there before cleaning the nib.
