Lovely to see you all yesterday. Great venue Rui and the lighting was perfect for nib fettling. Next meet I am going to order what your wife had as the 'sample' was so delicious. Murfie's captions for the photos made me giggle.
Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

I'm sad that I didn't come and I missed out on a potential sample of Kobe Gogh. Maybe British Rail will play nicely next month.
As the group no longer meets at "The Hole" then a change of title is appropriate. On reflection, given that London is really the international capitol of the world, retention of that part seems to be appropriate. If the intention is to retain a strong association with FPG then 'Geek' should be retained. So 'London Pen Geeks' would encapsulate the place, the subject, and the parent body. All that is needed is to have a word describing the event itself.
The event itself is more than just a 'gathering' as I have found it both very social and a wonderful 'exchange' of pens, inks, information and ideas between the attendees. And as Cob will attest to, there's a bit of trading going on as well. So I have struggled to find a suitable word that implies a mix of these elements. 'Festival' springs to mind and could be joined with 'pen' make 'Penfest' and keep the title to three words, viz 'London Geek Penfest'.
I'm also attracted to the German term 'Zeitgeist' which Wikipaedia defines as 'the intellectual fashion or dominant school of thought that typifies and influences the culture of a particular period in time'.
So for my tuppence worth I would suggest either London Pen Geeks' Zeitgeist or London Geek Penfest.
"London Pen Geeks Zeitgeist" sounds great to me as it also associates with the present venue.
OK,
Who's going to be there next Saturday?
Looking forward to it as always,
Cob
I'll definitely be there.
I've managed to wangle a pass for Saturday, so I'll be there. Question is, where are we meeting?
As far as I am aware, at last month's venue. Here are the details:
At my suggestion, mea culpa, we are going to try a new venue for our next gathering on Saturday 1st of November and I was supposed to come back with more details.
The venue I had suggested was the Bierschenke Kneipe in central London. Their website is http://bierschenke.co.uk/
They are in
4 London Wall Buildings
Blomfield Street
London EC2M 5NT
Tel: 0207 100 2500
That is between Liverpool Street and Moorgate tube stations. Just a couple of minutes walk from any of the stations.
The menu can be found here http://bierschenke.co.uk/food/
And most importantly their choice of beers is here http://bierschenke.co.uk/drink/

I haven't asked for a pass as it's our 35th wedding anniversary weekend, so I will be good and stay home. OH has booked a couple of days off work specially. I can't really say I'm off to London for the day.
Did anyone book a table for this Saturday? I ask, because according to their booking app on their website there are no tables available to book at lunchtime, and I have no idea how successful we will be in the walk in section.
Actually there is a table booked in my name for 8 people at 12pm, so all is in order.
