Once again thanks for the good wishes. However my mother died on Wednesday night - and I am pleased that she is finally released from what was (for the past few years) a miserable existence.

I shall be rather occupied for the next few weeks - I have not had to deal with this sort of thing before and it is quite overwhelming!.

    Best wishes

Our thoughts are with you, Cob. Please, whatever you do, try to pace yourself, during this busy and stressful time. Accept help whenever it's offered, & make sure you take care of your own health & well-being, as much as possible.

    Cob,

My thoughts are also with you.

As others have said, be kind to yourself, and don't try to do too much at once. I've had to sort out probate twice, under both Scots and English law, one with a will and one intestate. Don't be afraid to ask for help, but it is mostly fairly straightforward as long as you accept that you can only work at the pace dictated by others.

I'm really sorry to hear that, Cob. If there's any help I can give, just ask.

I too am sorry to hear. Even deaths that are long expected hit us hard, as I learned when my father died. I hope you find consolation and that all the necessary business goes well.

Late to this. So sorry Cob. Quite understand that it's all overwhelming but might it be good to get out, spend some time with friends/do something you enjoy for a day? If there's anything I can usefully do, please do say.

Thanks to all for your sympathy; she was a very old lady (nearly 99) and had had a pretty rotten time for the last few years; in my view she is well out of it. Of course it is strange (at my advanced years) becoming an orphan...

    All the best to everyone

    Hi Rui

I think it was meant to be Saturday.

Personally I'm no longer available but others may be.

May I please have a show of hands who can come to the meeting this weekend so that I can book the table?

Unfortunately I'll not be able to make it this time around.
