Hi guys, I was wondering if a fellow pen enthusiast would find themselves welcome at the next gathering in London?
I am only 6 months into the hobby but would love to meet up and share/compare pens and inks.
I'm not sure if there is a sign-up page or anything and this seems like the best place to ask.
I look forward to meeting up with you guys soon
Of course you're welcome. We're very informal, and there's no sign-up, initiation ritual or funny handshakes. The badge of recognition is the ink-stained hand. We meet at the Bierschenke at noon on the first Saturday of the month in the downstairs bar. There will be a table of people with pens inks and paper. Join us. The next meeting, unless anyone says different, is on Saturday June 5th.
See you there
Emile
Some days, it's hardly worth chewing through the leather straps....
Yes I'll be there too - and hoping for a good turn-out!

I am truly hoping to make it this time - it will be my first for a long time!
No need to worry but unfortunately I'll not be able to attend (once again) as I am having surgery on Thursday the 2nd and I'll be in the hospital until Saturday or Sunday.
Since we have had no problems in booking a table in the past I'll not bother to book a table this time around.
If everything goes well I'll see you all in July unless the second surgery procedure takes place at that time.
My other writing instrument is a pencil.
Good luck with that Rui. I hope all goes well.
Rui, best wishes for an uneventful stay in hospital and speedy recovery.
Good luck Rui! And thanks, Felicity for for the calendar check
Saturday 4th it is.

Yes Rui best of luck with everything.

We'll be thinking about you, Rui. & sending good wishes for a speedy recovery, from Down Under. Hope all goes well with everything.
Good luck with the surgery Rui, is it at one of my hospitals (RSH/ St Peter's)?
What do you mean new members are welcome Emile? Don't have to have been collecting for a minimum of 20 years and wear an anorak? and I assume no rituals excludes the ceremonial staining of the fingers?
Not sure if I can make it as I'm busy getting the bike ready to go to Italy.
Enjoy yourselves!
Thank you all for all the best wishes. There is nothing to be worried about but it is something that has bothered me for the past 7 years. Hopefully this year it will be sorted out for the better.
Peter, the hospital is the London Clinic.
My other writing instrument is a pencil.
Rui, good luck with the surgery and hopefully we'll see you at the July meeting!
Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

Apologies to all for non attendance over the last couple of months. Prior engagements and other stuff in the 'shit happens' and 'life crap' departments have prevented it. However, the 4th looks good for a bit of inky pleasure and I have a new Eco to bring along. If we can sort out the techy stuff, perhaps we can try a live link with Migo and Murfie? I'll bring an ipad and we can see what we can do...

Annie,
Sounds good on the live link idea.
Now that new Eco - did you stick to your word on when you would get a new pen? I sort of did but I didn't. Tell you more on the 4th (when my Eco will also make an outing).
As lots of us have been saying, sh1t happens.
I am confined to the sofa with my foot up, left ankle in a PoP backslab until I am seen in the fracture clinic on Wednesday. I've seen the X-Ray's, and am hopeful that it will be a straightforward recovery as there is no displacement. Fortunately, the mud and decent knee length riding boots saved me from worse. The horse I was leading slipped in the mud, went down, kneed me in the back of my calf and stood on my ankle as he recovered himself.
Enjoy yourselves on Saturday, and have a glass of red for me (not necessary for it to match your inky fingers).
