Sorry Scooby, life and work happened. I'm here and you haven't wasted the postage.

I've avoided all posts and will now play catch up!

GREEN! This ink is definitely green!
When I first inked it up, I was surprise by how light it was. Looking at it in the vial, I thought it would have been much darker. The second day of use, it did darken a little, but it was still very light.

    First impressions:
    It was green
    It was light green
    It was wet
    It lubricated well
    It had no flow issues
    It shaded very nicely
It took a long time to dry on the Mnemosyne paper

I used it at work all day and never had an issue with it. The MB 221 nib is a nice nib that puts down a good amount of ink. The pen wrote as expected for this pen, the ink didn't seem to cause me any problems. Having said that, the shade was so light it left me feeling kind of... meh! It felt watered down when I write with it. Not a property of the ink, just a feeling of the particular hue. It has grown on me since first trying, but it's still not an ink I think I would purchase. I haven't tested the waterproof-ness of it yet, I'll do that tonight, but it feels like it won't have any... I could be wrong, but I'm not hopeful.

I'm going to try it in my wettest (non sac) pen and see how I feel then... I think the darkness might improve my opinion of it.

Thanks to Scooby for your patience, and not sending me a "smack upside the face" mail.

    Keep smiling,
    SamO

I'm still using it in my MB 221 and it continues to please in that very wet writer. Good to see another 221 owner

A wonderful pen, I got it from Jar.

FWIW, it's not like I have a lot less interest in the mystery ink than when I first found out about it. It's just that I have a lot of hobbies and such that I try to keep up with, and currently, checking in on fountain pen web boards isn't exactly top priority. If I don't visit much, I miss out on things, and that's my situation.

I still have one pen with a little MI #20 inked and it's still not a favorite but it has grown on me. In the right pen, the ink almost looks cloudy when wet before drying into a solid color. I haven't seen this behavior from other inks and think it's pretty cool. If the base color was a little darker and a little less grassy I'd probably buy a bottle.

It's slowly growing on me too. I haven't liked it enough for it to be the first pen I reach for, thus I haven't yet used up the entire fill. I still have the fat 1.3mm stub in the pen too. When I wrote some lines with it on Friday I was rather surprised. It felt more lubricated than I remembered from the prior weeks of evaluating the ink. It also seems a bit darker, though that's likely the amount of ink this big stub puts down. I still don't like it, but I no longer dislike it. When you are actively thinking about it and evaluating it you find problems with it. When you stop caring and just use it there are fewer critical thoughts and more enjoyment.

I've been slowly using it up in my idea notebook. It's fine for that purpose. But I miss using the 221 for daily note taking at work. I better get busy using up the last drops of ink.

I found a positive aspect of MI20. It was very easy to flush from my Wahl-Eversharp Personal Point lever-filler. Water ran clear from the nib and feed after relatively little flushing.
