Default Writing & Illuminating & Lettering, by Edward Johnston

If you enjoy the art of writing, try to add Writing & Illuminating & Lettering, by Edward Johnston, to your library. It was first published in 1911, and by 1927, it was up to 15 editions. It is still being published today.

The publisher's name of this edition should be familiar: Pitman (of shorthand fame).

The bibliophile in me can't help admiring the beauty of early 20th Century printing and bookbinding of which your book is ample evidence. Thank you for sharing.

Yes it is...at first I thought one of them was Mark 8:26, but its 1st Cor. 13:3.
That looks like a very interesting book! Thanks

No substitute for handling a printed book, of course, but Archive.org and Project Gutenberg have copies online.

I was going to post more photos, but FPGeeks' vBulletin ver 4 is failing to allow uploads again.

Looks like it'll be just one image per post. Here's the last I was going to post. It's not easy choosing which page to photograph.

I like the drawn out strokes shown. Very interesting book for sure.
