Well, THIS turned out to be a rather entertaining thread. Surprised it went on as long as it did, and fully expect it to disappear soon once the asshats get to it. Maybe I should reactivate my sleeper.

I was very surprised to see that the OP didn't even get suspended for that.

Not sure about talking drinks. We can if you wish. Mine is a G&T

I think that the moderator is in what Wim has previously referred to as "Little-Hitler" mode and is behaving like they have an "all-encompassing power over their subjects." I've never before seen any FPN moderator, write on any thread that they closed: "several members will receive messages from the Moderators." In psychoanalysis that suggests "I'm giving it to all of them, regardless." Then they didn't even suspend the OP - which is frankly bizarre.

Spirited - can that mean drunk/inebriated?

Anyway, would you like ice and a slice too with the G & T?

Not drunk/inebriated, but it was sunny outside so we had Pimms at lunchtime.
Sipsmiths and Fevertree refreshingly light tonic please, with a slice of lime, would be lovely.

Only a sophomoric petulant infant would have a sleeper account or more than one account.

An infant that was already a sophomore would be really impressive actually, petulant or otherwise.

    Sophomores are still infants.

There's a guy on there who has 3 accounts that I know about. But he fits your description.

I guess I got to the party late. Whatever went on before, that's been deleted, it's generated some rancor and apparently some celebration.

Tell me that again when you've been on the end of his snide remarks as often as I have. The limit has been reached with this person.

Pretty sure there is a block/ignore tab. Don’t let unhappy internet people mess with you.

Ah well, surely you could have found a more elegant way to express your displeasure.

    I say dear Calamus,

Must we really go so "Bow tie, top hat, pipe and monocle" on this pen forum now? Surely a generally decent lad can endulge in a little vulgarity now and again. One is certainly not entirely shocked to hear the occasional inelegance on the various internet fora nowadays.

    Sincerely,

    Stub Esq. III

My main problem with the pen community (particularly on FPN) is how hoidi toity it is and how everyone thinks they are such a lord. I feel like I am stuck in some stupid-ass bourgeois Victorian period drama.

Note that I am not endorsing the namecalling (though personally it wouldn't bother me all that much. I have a pair of big boy pants around here someplace I can put on).

I am however, all for dropping the faux British horse and buggy bullshit & pretention that pervades the pen community.

Anyone who has had the misfortune to have followed any of my posts or threads may have noticed that, while I may (and indeed do) indulge in some industrial grade whinging , I rarely use rough language. It takes some serious ass-hattery on the part of others to prompt me to being profane.
