Finally something we can all agree on. Probably. Ah, make that more or less, as well. Two fingers, please, neat, but make that Tennessee sippin' whiskey...

So, G&T, a nice whisky or three, there's more choice in the cabinet. Anyone for Chartreuse or even a Cherry Brandy by Cointreau?

I have a couple confessions to make, I only asked for three fingers because I am greedy, and I have never tried Jack Daniels.

I only asked for two fingers because I plan to have another when I'm done.
Jack Daniels is very smooth and flavorful. Similar to bourbon, but its own experience.

BTW, when I first stumbled across this thread I wasn't sure what all the ballyhooing was about. Just now discovered the link to the FPN thread and read through it.
Hard to believe the whole thing wasn't written as a spoof! Pa-thetic, as Viv on "The Young Ones" used to say.

I'd agree with you, if not for the fact that thread is f'ing hilarious and sums up FPN so well...
pretentious, prissy, and pathetic prudes, with misplaced aspirations and delusions of grandeur, never mind the total lack of perspective or sense of proportion (and humour).
I loved the pontificating on giving and taking offense. I kept thinking about this video as I read it.

Wasn't that Rik?. Vyvyan would have used a sledgehammer instead of using delicate things such as words.

I’m a teetotaling Mormon so Jack Daniels doesn’t do much for me. What about water? Does anyone dislike water?

I think that's the only word he (Vyv or Viv or however it was spelled) knew. Or used, anyway.

On a side note, a quick bit of googling and cross-referencing suggests that the so-called moderator who closed the thread, alc3261, is actually a working psychiatrist - would be interesting to read her professional opinion on the incident ;P.

She is indeed, and in my opinion needs to have a close look at her own behaviour.

Anyway, the Wisdom thread: I can't find it even in the cache (not that I'm a computer geek or anything). Looks like the mode-ragers went to some lengths to hide it. It feels unsavoury to me to present a forum as all unicorns and rainbows by hiding the truth. Kind of like a Dutch Trump.
