I agree that the Apica notebooks are probably the best for the money and the intended use. I order them from the Goulet's and I'm very happy with them.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone!

Thank you for the feedback as well. I finally got around to trying the fine P51 with Noodlers Black on the cheap composition notebooks and it works great on the ones made in the USA. I am sure if I went with a broader nib, it would feather and bleed, but the P51 puts down a nice fine dry line that is completely indistinguishable from a ballpoint in these notebooks.

    Cheap notebooks for the win!

The 51 will give you not only a lifetime of service, but will be available to be passed down in your will. Quite simply one of the best pens ever built and definitely the pinnacle of fountain pen technology.

The 51 is also a GREAT note taking pen in my experience. Because of the hood (I suppose) the nib doesn't dry out sitting uncapped while you listen to lectures. So it's always ready to write.

The hood helps prevent drying out, yes, and there's also a giant collector under there, so a vast amount of ink is always at one's disposal.

Exactly! I use my M200 for sermon notes on Sundays, and it occasionally dries out a touch if our Pastor goes on a tangent haha. Once I stop by the hardware store tonight and pick up some shellac, both of my P51's will be serviceable again and will be my primary note-takers.

A lot of people are going back to college, so they can change professions and find brand new work. The tough economy has made it specifically hard while college expenses are growing. Fortunately, you can get a payday cash advance to help you pay the bills. This can help you get through college, so you can get a great, new job.

Back to school sale--buy anything made in Brazil, especially composition books. Also try Staples sugarcane paper spiral bound notebooks.

I recently bought a Mead Five Star notebook at Target and surprisingly it's FP friendly.

Yeah, the Five Star paper works pretty well. I wouldn't pick it to use, but it's workable. I've had a bit more bleedthrough than on the Brazil comp books, but it's comparable to the Brazil paper which is great.

Hmm... I should think about doing another post graduate course, so I get to write more with my FPs and get through some of the ink.

We get staples products at work. The pads with recycled paper in them work better then the pads with regular paper

My mead 5 star is awful. Some pages worse than others, but all basically unacceptable.

Sustainable earth is ok, no bleed through, but a bit toothy.

Found my campus bookshop has suddenly started stocking miquelrius notebooks. and clairefontaine 1951 basics!

    Score!

"What are moon-letters?" asked the hobbit full of excitement. He loved maps, as I have told you before; and he also loved runes and letters, and cunning handwriting, though when he wrote himself it was a bit thin and spidery.

Black n' Red fan - decently priced - I get them at Office Depot.
I find comp books from Brazil the best, USA are fairly decent too.

I just snagged three plastic-covered comp books from Dollar Tree. Though they are Made in China, a discreet test proved them to be somewhat fp-friendly. The covers are very colorful and flexible, and the pages are an off-white, but seem very smooth. They are slimmer than other comp books, and I don't have them handy to check page numbers.

To me, they look and feel elegant.

    Love Dollar Tree!
